Michelin pilot Sport PS2 20k mile warranty??

is this really true? i saw it on their website.

how come people are only getting 10k out of them? if thats the case, are they all being replaced by michelin as per their warranty?

what if u track the shit out of your car, can u still claim that warranty every time?? seems like an awesome tire to buy

Looks like this warranty was just introduced for tires bought after 3/1/11. The fine print indicates it is only applicable, on a pro-rated basis, when all four tires are worn to the wear bars. So, if you replace the rears at 10K, and then all four are worn to the bars at 18K, you could then get a 10% discount (2/20) on another set of four, I think. If that discount is applied to the MSRP price, then it may be more than the TireRack price.

Marketing crap, as always. With much better values out there, marketing 'geniuses' came up with that.

This is true, applies to tires sold after 3/1/11.

Traditionally, mileage warranty only applies if all 4 tires are worn out at once down to the wear bars, otherwise manufacturers argue that proper rotation could have gotten you to the advertised mileage.

Michelin, recognizing that staggered fit cars like the M3 cannot rotate, applies the warranty to the rear wheels at 1/2 the mileage of the fronts.

So new Michelin PS2s from here on out are warrantied for 20K miles front, and 10K miles rear. Which is, of course, about what you get. Still, credit to them for not totally excluding staggered fitments from mileage warranty, which is what manufacturers had been doing.

Any pro-rated discount can be applied directly to the Tire Rack price, does not have to come off of MSRP.
