I don't even own an M yet and my wife hates it. My son (2.5) is excited for "dadda buy M-free" and my wife hates that even more!

OP, your kid is funny.
I used to get grilled by my mom when I was 19. i used to own an MKII GTI 16V with BBS RY wheels; pain in the neck to clean them. Tooth brush and all, used to take me an hour just for the wheels.

OP. I think your son is cool. I think the OP was just showing a good dad and son interaction. I remember growing up that dad would always like to go to the land and clean it up. I thought he was nut and complain. Now 32 sometimes call him up and want to go with him. It just make him happy.

I think when jr turn 15-16 he will take good care of his first ride. I do agree. Make him help you it will be a good bonding. My son is going to be three in two weeks. He helps me clean the wheels all the time (after i cleaned them) or wipe the car once it is clean. The best part is when we go for a ride afterward. He just happy that we go out.

I think it was washing, removing the seats to vacuum, and removing the wheels, once a week when he didn't drive it. I'm not even that bad and I have documented OCD. I usually wash 3 or 4 times a week but I drive my cars every day.

you're an idiot for waxing your car every weekend. Congrats. You are accomplishing absolutely nothing.

Look at this guy: around 50 coats of wax he ends up with. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=81391'

And if you actually READ that thread you'll see even he acknowledges that after the 4th or 5th coat he gained NOTHING. No extra gloss, slickness, shine, depth, nothing, except a lighter wallet and some extra coats of sealant that will burn off just as fast.

No one ever laid on his deathbed wishing they took better care of his car.

Work on spending time with your son... or regret it later.

Funny. When I was young I thought the same thing about my dad, but then thats how we bonded a lot....washing the car together.
We still even wash our cars together sometimes now since we live somewhat close.

We both share a passion for sports cars, both have sports cars, and both love keeping them looking like the day they come home from the dealer. Difference is we actually drive ours...well I drive mine. I make fun of my dad for having to detail his every week when he only drives it a maybe once or twice. But he's older now so he deserves it.

Yes people make fun of me for it but I only spend maybe 1.5 hours on it during the weekend. Wash, spray wax, vacuum, clean leather, wheels, tire shine, done.
