My point exactly - and for the record - I have never made the idiotic claim that an E93 is as fast around a track as the E90 or 92 - nor have I seen any other E93 owner make such a rediculous claim...

@Powerslide: Actually the claim isn't that ridiculous. I drive an M392, so I can write that.
It all depends on the type of track you're on and if the roof is up or down. I drive an e93 330d as a winter car right now and it's incredible how much better the sheer traction of the car is, with the roof down, compared to an e92. I keep joking with my friends, that if they see me with the top down in a snow storm, then it's not because I've lost my marbles, but because I need more traction. And exactly that (traction) is the is advantage a 911 has over an M3. I am certain, that an M393 with the top down can outrun an M392 on any winding road with enough hairpins because it will have a rather substantial traction advantage. Anyone that tries to belittle the M393 simply hasn't driven one and probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between fast and faster if he did.

Serious track nuts tend to have dedicated track cars. If a track nut has an E93 it is unlikely that it is the only car or that there is any intention of tracking it. CA

And who cares?
I track my E93 on a regular basis. After years of racing motorcycles and doing track days with cars, I consider myself a pretty decent driver. I'm not even close to being able to use the full potential the M3 offers. And there are very few people I know who actually can. So whatever it is, a E90, 92 or 93, be proud what you have and enjoy it. |

These "my car is faster than your car when both are driven by a professional" claims are somewhat pointless. The limiting factor in track driving is almost always the driver not the car. CA

Amen to that! This post illustrates how polarized people are on this board. I say ALL M3's rock. They are one of the best all rounders out there.

I would love to get a GT3 or a Porsche Turbo as a second car to my e93
That would be a dream but since that'll be a while.. I'm thinking of getting a S2k. Small yet amazing to drive

Nobody said that it was slow...but I just noted something all the cars below the e93 are 350z,clio,civic, z4 nothing spectacular. Anyhow I don't like convertible but the e93 is the only one that I would own. Very classy car
