Not your bad at all. The "bad" was the inexperienced designer, engineer or cheapie business person who would not insure that this part used the proper resins/clear coats to be strongly resistant to known environmental conditions. I have faith that BMW will choose better for their CF roof. Nonetheless, I can see myself with the rags and windex in the trunk to combat the damn birds near my gf's place.

Very good point - it's sad to see that. Just remember that not everybody that opts for the sunroof is like that. I'll be running my car to redline daily.

Exactly, as of right now none will come with it...........

Possible they might make it for America but.........I doubt it.....

The 6 doesn't have one and it's not even an "M"..

Seems like there's 2 things new "M"s don't have anymore.....

Fogs and sunroofs.....

Sunroof is a no charge option. It's option number 403. Furthermore, this exact information is posted on the first page of this thread.

No, I'm not ignoring that issue. The difference of 11 lbs between steel & CF roof you will never feel unless you race. The difference of ~46 lb. between steel roof with sunroof and CF roof w/o you will only feel under track conditions. I comes down to what pushes your buttons. I use the sunroof in my E46 frequently, but I'd be willing to sacrafice it for the uniqueness of the CF roof. I guess, if I had the choice, I'd take the CF roof with sunroof, but looks like that will not be an option from BMW, though it's been done.

So that's why guys like us need to drive it as M intended, so at least some will be driven properly.

That would be my vote also - without hesitation.

He was kidding.

Neither here not there. The M3 will still take your RS4 to the clinic. Enjoy.

Smart drivers in orange county prefer to wait for the E92 M3?

Its silly as hell to worry about sunroof vs. CF in terms of performance. 99.9% of us won't be able to tell the difference. Only sensitive instrumentation and / or actual lap times will know for certain. Get whatever makes you feel better.

If 99.9% of us won't be able to tell the difference that means 99.9% will never get to experience the M3 at its full potential. That is sad

I will be one of the few making up the 0.1% :rocks: But then again I am blessed with 3 great racetracks within 2 hours of me and some of the world's best back roads within a half hour.

Sorry to those living in flat country . . .
