How do you like the PSS9? I have thought about upgrading to Bilsteins on my 1-series hatch, but there's not many riding them out there....

i had them on my b5 s4. i removed the pss9s off this car to install pss10s. it all depends on what you are looking for. to me, bilstein coilovers are like the m3 in that they are all about balance. hopefully i answered your question well. if not, just ask away either here or via pm.

mini update:
the custom cf pieces are almost done. i had some additional engine trim pieces done in 2x2. i had an extra battery cover and decided to have overlay done on it as well. the hood grill was done in 1x1 to match all the exterior cf. edit: will have better pics of them soon.

Your M3 is going to look awesome
I really like all the carbon fiber you are putting into your M3 I see the mod virus has got a hold of you and not letting go I am a big fan when it comes to carbon fiber I have tons on my E92 M3 (View my Garage) and I am still not done yet. I had to take a small break $$$$ I still got the Hood and interior to go good luck with your build I see on this thread we are going to have to call you the BMW E46 M3 King of Carbon Fiber

The 1 hatch has a mad rigid body, so with a very stiff suspension it's much like a go-cart right now. But it doesn't absorb bumps and uneven pavement well, so would like something more advanced than the budget coils that are on now.... I have read alot on the technology at bilsteins page, and I think the 9 would suit my needs well, because I only tamper with the settings twice a year. It should perhaps even be mentioned that most of my driving is highway - I just like the sports car feel and corner ability when i have the chance Do you think I am way off here? But thanks for your answer previously. I am looking forward to your next update

lol. i guess it does.
Quote:
1. lighter and stronger than pss9s 2. 1 extra interval of adjustability (not a big deal, i know) 3. the adjustability is easier to do- clearly marked dials so you don't have to count clicks from either end (1 or 10) and, on most applications, the dial has been relocated for easier access to turn. 4. more resistant to weathering/corrosion if you are driving in areas/roads with lots of salt, i say it is worth considering getting pss10s although pss9s have held up well in the elements (contrary to the "testing" of them vs. kw's inox coilovers). i have not driven on pss10s yet but pss9s had very good ride quality. pss9s will be much better than stock or any "budget" coilovers. i know that a lot of folks say they are not a great performance/track setup. personally, i think bilstein makes some of the best overall performing coilovers out there. i don't think you are way off. it sounds like the pss9s will fit your needs and expectations well. if you were an all-out track person with your car being dedicated just for the track, then i would say they are not. the pss10s are worth considering but given what you said, the pss9s should be just as good.
