Best way to ship tires?
I am going to be shipping out a set of tires this Friday, and I am wondering what is the best way to go about it? Fedex has always been the best priced, but I heard that now they require the tires to be enclosed? What is the best way to do that? Can two tires still be strapped together to create one shipment? I know this is not recommended for wheels and tires due to the weight and them being more fragile, but I think this is the best way to go for tires only...
Thanks! Oh, and before anyone hits me with a , I already have and the majority of threads discuss how to ship wheels + tires, not tires alone

Can these straps be purchased? And do you ship them enclosed? If so, in what?
Thanks!

if you dont have straps, just use very thick tape and tape two tires together... you dont have to ship them enclosed. even disount tire/tire rack ships the tires without packaging.

I've always just shipped individual tires "naked", no packaging. Never had an issue wiht Fedex or UPS. Highly unlikely to suffer any damage but you should also insure just in case.

What is better to strap the two tires together? Strapping tape or heavy duty zip ties? The strapping tape shouldn't damage the tires, right?

I shipped a pair last Month. I taped them together with brown packing tape, then wrapped them in cling film. No complaints from the courier at all

We ship them with no covering all the time, so they shouldn't give you a hard time. We use both UPS and FedEx. Maybe policy is different over the counter rather than loading straight into their truck as we do, but unless that's the difference you should be fine.
