What kind of Ipod do you use??

Just wondering what everyone here is using in terms of Ipods in your M3?
I have an old Classic (3 years old) hooked up and was wondering if anyone here is using newer models like the newer Ipod Touch or Nano

thanks

I haven't used an iPod since I bought the car. 32 GB USB flash drive fits in the center console USB port without taking up the extra space an iPod or hard drive would. Plus the hard drive route is hit and miss. Some won't power up at all because of the limitations on how much power a USB port can supply. There is an extensive thread about hard drives on e90post. For everyone model out there, you'll have guys that say it works and other guys that say it doesn't. Looks like kmarei has one that works for him though.

I'm just bummed I can't get the iPod holder pouch. That would come in sooooo handy but apparently isn't available as a separate piece. Boooooooo.

I've noticed if you use an ipod that uses flash memory the idrive interface responds much faster. Anyone else notice this?

I'm probably one of the few people on the planet that doesn't own an IPod. The USB flash drive works great.

i believe the drives that have a 1.8" drive work
which is the drive that the ipods use
at least the regular ipods, not the nanos touchs etc
i am just hesitant on putting my ipod in the car all the time when its around 10 degrees outside now, and i like to listen to it at home
plus i am always worried when i leave my car in for service
my drive cost like $70
my ipod was $300

Been using a 4th Generation monochrome (circa 2005) with 6FL, my favorite to date.

Using a 5th gen Nano here...no problems. I've really been working on buying albums from Amazon MP3 and just saving it to the hard drive in the Navi. God I love this car .

I used to keep my touch with me wherever I went (work, gym, old car, etc). Now I just leave it in its pouch in the arm rest and I've resorted to blackberry+pandora for work and my old beat up nano in the gym.
