How frequent will a dealer get new car?
So I'm curious if anyone has a sense of once the car begins being delivered to the US dealerships, how many vehicles per month each dealer will receive? I'm sure there is more that goes into it then this, but it is my understanding that BMW gives the larger and more productive dealers a higher % of new vehicles compared to other dealers. Does this sound right? What I'm trying to estimate is if someone is for example #5 on the list at a particular dealer (any dealer), then once cars are begin getting sent over will it take 2 months, 5 months, 10 months for that #5 person to have their number called. I would think at least for the first year of the new car, even the larger dealers would only get one vehicle per month delivered and thus a person (like me) who is #5 on the list will take 5 months after first delivery to get the car...

What I was wondering. Even though, I am not on wait list.
I am pretty sure that each dealer gets different numbers of new vehicles, especially new M3. Depending on sales status, size of dealer itself, etc. Maybe someone who worked at dealer before can confirm this? But that's my guess. |

Should answer the question with some small uncertainty. |

It depends on a center's allocation from BMW. Larger volume stores will get more cars than smaller stores. When the M5 was released, we saw one a month. Some stores received one every other month. When the last M3 was released we stopped taking orders after 30 deposits.
