Just be regular on the oil changes, and it'll last like a charm!

i like to go fast and i'll be taking multiple hour trips in it. oil changes will be done, though. i can probably do them myself. doesn't seem that hard.

more things go wrong in saltwater though. it's already doing a number on my tools. the salty air is rusting them fast. props wear out faster, heavy surf beats up the hull, and if i'm not vigilante about the regular daily maintenance, the engine will go downhill quick. has to be flushed and sprayed down after every use, etc. (that sounds dirty)

Wow, that looks like another full time job lol

If it were me, I wouldn't be able to manage the extra stress.

it's easy if you get in a habit of doing it. i clean my guns every time i go shooting. it's a pain in the ass, but if you maintain a gun well, it will last forever. same with a boat.

That's a good way to look at it.

Btw, how do you like it in Florida? You think you'll last long there?

anybody here from the san antonio area? Just picked up a used 08 m3 from another user here and the car came with a Rogue engineering ssk. So far i'm not a big fan of the ssk but I need something to compare it to. Anyone with a stock car willing to let me mess around with the shifter?

Hey man, congrats on getting the M.

I had the UUC ssk, but I hated it so much, so I switched back to the stock shifter. I'm pretty sure my ssk was kinda' defective though. Either way, it was a horrible experience for as long as I had it.

I'm thinking about taking my wife & kid to San Antonio soon. If I do come, I won't be in my M, unfortunately. Gonna have to come in the smooth & quiet family cruiser instead.

Looks like plenty of fun, yet I'd imagine that eventually you'd get tired of that kinda' life, no?

Blake nice boat, my buddy had a 48 ft sea Ray and when we got out on the coast we were behind a bunch of huge like 75 ft boats, needless to say, they went and got a bigger boat! More crap to upgrade hehe... Maybe a speed boat next time?

before i settled on the cruiser, i had my mind set on a speed boat. baja, donzi, something similar. you just don't see that around here, nor is it very practical. that boat has more creature comforts and is the top-of-the-line sea ray for it's size. boats with cabin's are useless here unless air conditioned because the water and air temps are so warm year round. the boat is no slouch either...it weighs only 500 lbs more than an equivalent baja with the same engine has near the same economical cruise speed and only about 10mph slower top speed. at the end of the day, i'll be taking more long trips in it and going fast is just going to cost a shit ton more in expensive marina gas. this boat will also be more comfortable.

but one day.......

I love boats but I don't think it would be for me because I'm quick to get rid of stuff I don't need. But for you, where you live, boats are almost a must. Man I want to go deep sea fishing now.
