Another Dinan Spring Set Installed
Hey Guys/Gals
Okay just got the car back this weekend after having a set of Dinan Performance Springs mounted on my M3. Logistics was simple. Searched Dinan's website to find alternatives to my dealer who also does Dinan work as well. Shop I found offered and additional discount on top of Dinan's current 15% offer on BOTH labor and parts which made it hard to pass up so I pulled the trigger. Parts were in stock at Dinan and shipped to the shop; dropped my car off Thur (free loaner given an 330 with an S2 package which was quite nice/adequate but NO M3 of course). Picked up on Fri afternoon and drove home. Impressions so far: PROS
So that's it. Am looking forward to enjoying it on my upcomming trip down to the PDC next month for my M school. Also will see if the springs settle some or if the stance stays the same and the driving habit/performance. TIll then the pics you've all be waiting for. Let the flaming begin! LOL

Opps forgot...here are the BEFORE Pics! This is the car with the OEM springs installed at the PDC Pickup in S.C. at the factory and also right after the new VMR V710's were installed 2 weeks ago.

You got a nice good clean drop
Your looking good good stuff no more big factory gap I still think you need to go on ahead and get some painted reflectors to finish your mods for now

I'll be honest here, i can barely notice the drop, I really don't think it's worth paying over $1k to have these things installed but that's just me.
Still love the ///M though

So for me...a subtle drop and improved performance and ride along with the waranty equal to the manufacturer and honored by my local BMW who is a Dinan shop too was worth the extra investment which I see as minimal while others will take the extra $500 and spend it on 1/2 of one HRE P40 or a set or PS2 rears!

Estimate I worked out came to: H&Rs - $250 with shipping (JSLevi, EAS and others) Install - $400 labor ($100/hr for 4 hrs estimate local shop non dealer) Allignment - $200-300 (est local dealer to get the specs right) Rental - $50 (hopefully a shop would have included it but not guaranteed) Aftermarket Total=$950-1000 Dinan's came to Shocks - $899 (before discount) Labor - $899 (book value charge by Dinan for 7.5 hrs total) Dinan Rebate shocks 15% - $134.85 off Dinan local shop install discount - $44.95 off Dinan local Shop parts discount - $44.95 off Dinan Total = Roughly $1573.25! 4 years or 50,000 miles Dinan warrant on their product=PRICELESS!

I'm sorry...the price of the springs and the labor is nothing short of absurd. Typical dinan bending over the BMW consumer. It's a shame really.
The worst part is 7.5 hours for springs? I did coilovers on my e46 m3 in my garage with no power tools....never before touched a suspension on a car....in 5 hours. Did they do the work with one arm and blindfolded? Glad you're happy with it though, I guess that's what matters.

Rob nice subtle drop! Car looks good with the wheels and springs I have to see it in person sometime. When the weather warms up We're going on a drive. Price is steep but considering the warranty I think it's worth it. I've already have had two issues with my EDC and I plan on keeping it, so this may be the route I go.

Thanks for the words on the car. Appreciate it. Yes its subtle but rides great. Very stable and planted. What happened to your EDC? Did you have problems with the dealer getting it fixed? That is exactly what I am afraid of especially going into the dealer with H&R's and saying hi "fix me" with a straight face while he's laughing at me. And they KNOW me there too well! Otherwise how's your car?

Rob, I am so jealous that you're going for the M school, I wish I could but ah I have to work. I have had two issues with my EDC one was a plug loose and the other one was a failed control module. Both issues took about a week to diagnose and fix. Trust me my service adviser knew me pretty well also. They fixed both without any issues but imagine if I had so aftermarket springs, that's why I would like to go your route when I pull the trigger. I used to have coil overs on my previous car and the ride was much to unforgiving for DC streets so a good compromise between handling and comfort is a must. Seems like these do the trick. I have 12000 miles on her now, and I am loving every minute of it. I don't even want to ask how many miles you have on yours, lol!
