Any self car wash in Northern NJ?
Guys, if there was one thing I really loved while driving through the Carolinas or Virginia, it was all these "self" car washs. as I unfortunately do not have any way I can clean my car on the premises of my building, and as I will not be able to have my car detailed every week by a profesional, I was wondering if any of you knew a place where I could "do it myself" in the area of Clifton/Nutley or Morristown?
Thanks in advance for your comments/suggestions.

By the way, I used a hand car wash on Saturday, but was worried to see the guys working on the bottom of the car (where most of the dirt, sand, etc.. is) and then move back up on the doors, roof, etc... with the towels. Bottom line, whether you really hand it to professionals or you DIY!

Sometimes there are some harsh chemicals in the self wash--so beware
Forget using the brush thats a given. Using a hose and bucket at hoe really doesnt take too long :P Mike |

Hey MTrois,
Ain't Europe here, where they have clean water in the Car wash... It's all reused (hardly recycled)... so high pressure will probably sand-blast your paint off! I haven't washed my car yet since ever I guess, still looking for a good place in NYC or NJ. I don't like others to wash my car, as it's not their property... so not much to lose for them, right? Oh, and I live in Manhattan, in case people advise to use my own driveway... Thanks! Please let me know if you found a proper one! Thanks! PS: How is the ride doing? I always have 'Power' on (sport mode), feels better and get the same MPGs

NYC M3
Hey -
I live in the West Village - have a 2008 E90 M3 in Jerez Black. The guys at Chelsea Car Wash do a good hand wash for $50. Don't go through the machine - but pull around to the 14th Street side and ask the manager for a hand wash. I find that tipping the guy who is washing the car $5-10 before he washes does worlds of good... -Todd |

I recently used a hand car wash in Bergen county called Celebrity Auto Spa in Paramus NJ. They were pretty good. I only got the exterior wash and drove away with a good feeling that they did NOT put any swirl marks on my car. Inexpensive too. I did give them a big tip though.

My favorite spot is a place in HoHoKus called OBH (Only By Hand) Car Wash. It is a great little hand wash spot with mostly all very nice luxury cars which provides good conversation among owners and other enthusiasts.

There's two places I go to from time to time, one is in Leonia and the other is in Palisades Park.
Leonia Car Wash (201) 363-0040 125 Fort Lee Rd Leonia, NJ 07605 Casino Car Wash (201) 461-6139 425 Grand Avenue Palisades Park, NJ 07650 They both do a pretty good job. I typically go to Casino Car Wash more often because they have a good italian deli in their building adjacent to them. They do an awesome job when they are not busy (mainly because they do not rush as much and they can give more TLC like dry off the car more). To wash the car, I believe they use sheep skin wash mitts and to dry they use terry cloth towels and chamois leather. The typical cars there are like Mercedes and BMWs but of course you'll see the occasional Camry and Accord. They use to detail my uncle's NSX and Ferrari a few years back when he use to live by there. I haven't been to the Leonia car wash for a few years but I can still vouch for them as well as they detailed my father's car a few year's back and did an outstanding job. |

Sure do!
http://nj.citysquares.com/ho-ho-kus/...-hand-car-wash Right down the street from my guys at Rogue Engineering. You should stop in for a SSK and Pulley set while you are around there.

u guys drive 60k cars and u don't care enough to wash the car yourself to make sure the mitts u use are clean and don't have any dirt in them which create ur scratches and swirl marks?
www.detailersdomain.com and get some good quality products. go to the rt.46 wash bays. get some buckets, and some microfiber towels to dry the car. and wash it yourself.
