Brake light went out way too early
I just got a notification yesterday from my car that one of my brake lights went out. I only have 6500 miles on the car. Does anyone else find that a little premature?

It is a bulb that BMW has no control. Sometimes you will get lucky and get a shorter fuse. My last 335 brake light lasted within the first month, less than 1000 miles. Just bring it back to the dealer and they will replace it immediately while waiting.

I have been getting a warning for the right brake lamp but all lights are fine. It comes on and then goes off after about 15 seconds. It's happened about 10 times in the past week.

This has been a continued problem with my wifes 2007 328 coupe, but so far not a problem with the 2008 M3. The biggest problem is that the instrument panel gives you the warning that you have a bulb that is burnt out, but when you check the lights all of the bulbs are working. When we go to the dealer (warranty) they have to pull bulbs and replace until they find what they call the (weak) bulb. Go figure, never ever had this problem with my 95 or my 02 525s. This is something new that BMW needs to address and fix. I encourage everyone that has this problem to complain to your dealer in order to get a BMW fix.
