Pull WHOLE Diff/send out just for re seal???
Hey guys- recently reached out to a local well regarded shop to schedule an appt. to re seal my leaking rear diff (2011 E90 m3 DCT). It was noted on the PPI when I bought it, along with a quote for reseal from a different shop.
This most recent shop is telling me that for DCT, the whole diff needs to be dropped and sent out for service. Neither of the previous 2 shops mentioned anything of the sort, and I've had the diff on my e46 re sealed in only a couple hours. Why would a DCT diff be different than manual, and need to be pulled and sent out just so it could be resealed?? |

Almost guarantee its the front diff seal. This is an easy job to do for someone mechanically competent.
You're right as there is really NO difference from DCT and MT diff, other than ratio. https://www.m3post.com/forums/showpo...33&postcount=7
