Room for a transaxle?
Forgive me if this is a silly question but if someone had the time and money would there be enough room for a full rear transaxle in an E92 M3? Has anyone done this already? A forum search yielded no results.
The GT car obviously has one from Xtrac but I would assume the rear subframe in the street car would need modification if not outright replacement. Would the rear seats and/or trunk space need to be sacrificed? The other question would then be how traction control could be implemented, eg a standalone TCS and maybe dummy inputs to the stock system if that is to be maintained. |

rear floor would need to be raised, fuel tank removed, etc. lots of work when a dg500 could just be adapted.

DG500 is the move like Amraz said.. you would also use a standalone ecu at this point to control traction control.

Most of my intention is moving some weight to the back, not even necessarily going with a sequential gearbox. That and just making something unique. I'm also thinking about a dry sump with the reservoir in the back.
