Help with coding out 5FE1 "Steering angle correction value exceeded"

I have an EDC fault 5FE1 Steering angle correction value exceeded.

My steering angle sensor is fine. No DSC errors, turn signals turn off by themselves, headlights slightly tilt during turns, live readout data from steering angle sensor without any problems. Only my EDC is not working, stuck me in permanent sport mode because of the fault.

It is a fault with the EDC module. There is a way in tool32 to zero out the steering angle correction value inside this EDC module. My current value is -108.

I followed this guide on how to do it: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showth...highlight=5fe1

My problem: When I run the job "steuern_stromwerte_vorgeben" with the argument "ORT;0x5FE1" I get an error message.

In that guide there is a guy who used the argument "achse;5FE1" which I tried and it said it ran the job with success... except it didn't. When i cleared faults the fault came right back and my value is still -108.

Does the car have to be just in accessories mode or does the engine actually have to be running?

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any help would be appreciated. Also does anyone have a coding cable near Santa Barbara that I can use?

i had this problem too and figured it was a bad EDC module. swapping in a new SZL didn't do anything, neither did repeatedly running that script. I ended up going to coilovers anyway so never spent the money on a new EDC module to confirm.

I think I have an M3 problem.

you can code out EDC entirely but the car will ride like a brick, just replace the EDC control module they shouldnt be alot of money used these days.
