All it took was 4 matching tires
Congrats Rami! It’s been a while in the making. Seems like your intentions are changing from years ago. Will be curious to hear of your new goals.

The car is perfect for me. I love driving it on any tires and any tire combinations.
The goal is now to keep the car reliable. My main goal is to be a better driver and drive closer and closer to the limit. Continue to learn how to analyse data to understand post event what I did, set goals based on data, and try to meet those goals. It is now time for my investment in 4-way shocks, potentiometers on all 4 corners, AIM logger that records car and driver in as much details as amature can have, to bear fruit. I got the Lime Rock Club director to ride with me and coach me thru few laps and he was very happy with my driving. Recommmended few adjustment to T-3 which I worked on. Mainly working on a line involve rotating the car vs turning the car. I am ready now for the fine details of driving reflected in tenths of a second. And WGI goal is to go below 2:06, my PB from last year. |

Two sequential laps sub 60sec at LRP
Rear Tires: 305/30/19 Corsa Asym 60tw from last year WGI, this year WGI, LRP. Still looking all right. Year 2020 discounted below $200/tire on Tire Rack. Front tires: 285/30/19 Corsa Asym 60tw. Stickers, Heat Cycled by TR. Year 2020 discounted $200/tire on Tire Rack The Corsa Asym current are $450/tire so not in my budget. But if I see them discounted I buy at least 4 at a time. |

I think you have another half second to gain by a) applying earlier throttle on exiting T2 and b) increasing maintenance throttle after T3 while you set up for T4. I try to never dip below 60mph in the same line your taking through T3. Good rotation on that turn or maybe it's the GoPro stabilizer. Congratulations. |

Too much traffic.
Was at WGI for three days and no clean lap. I gave up Sunday 2pm and called it a day. Typical lap. Traffic is not the issue per se, the delay in point bys kills your rythem. Hope my next event at WGI will give some open laps. |

To me that looks awful and I would probably never run with that organizer again.

Yep looks painful. The organizer screwed up by allowing that many cars on track at once.
And why are there so many trains for what I assume is an advanced run group? It means many of them aren't advanced drivers. |

I have run with BMW GVC number of events and the organizers are great. For this event they combined another club from Toronto and the that has tipped the number of cars on the track beyond manageable situation. The event run into difficulty on 3 levels: 1. Too many cars in every session over 3 days. 2. The type of cars in a run group was too diverse. 3. drivers were not diligent in giving point bys in a timely fashion. In my opinion, if only one of the 3 factors was presented, it would have been fine and manageable. But all three factors together lead to cahos. Typically by the third day the field would have sort itself out. Not this time. On the third day, the best weather day of the three, we had 4 major accidents with people in the wall. I have video of one of those going on top of the esses (T-3) in oil and luckily for me was able to control the situation and go thru it to stop at the red flag station on the back straight. When the flag changed from red to black, we drove around to pit in, only to discover an M3 in the wall between T-10 and T-11. This is when I said enough is enough and called it a day. To BMW GVC credit, they run it the best they could. I am confident they will not repeat this mistake again and I would run another event with them in the future. |

The track allowed 75 cars which caused 10 cars to queue up at grid waiting for someone to come off so another car was let in. Given the cahos the track decided to reduce the cars on track to 65 which caused a bigger queue at grid. As an instructor being busy with my student I am never a first one to grid, once I was in a queue that was getting longer, I just gave up and went back to the garage. It was first for me. Never saw this before. |

I was at the event in the blue E92 M3 (232), sorry for holding you up in the beginning through the esses. Agree that it was a very chaotic time on track with so many cars out there. I can tell you that there has been a push to bring in more participants to HPDEs at GVC, but despite the full track it shouldn't have led to that many incidents on track.

From the organizer's stand point there were a couple issues that led to this event being what it was, all of which have been addressed for the future. The/one issue with the traffic was a very large portion of the instructor/advanced groups had never been to WGI before.
It was a frustrating event trying to find holes in the traffic but Sunday afternoon was great. Everyone gave up and went home. Last edited by amg6975; 10-10-2023 at 11:13 AM.. |

I've been running with GVC for quite some time now, so I'll definitely still be back, but hopefully there were some lessons learned here. |

I was at that GVC event @ WGI as well. Which one was your car? I have the grey E90 M3 (213). Don't see my car on your video - which means I didn't slow you down?
I have never seen so many E90/E92 M3 at ONE event. This is definitely the car for WGI. Dave

I went for the first time last month with my e92 and it was amazing.. soooo much to learn but I had gone with an open track rental for 2 days so I had quite a bit of track time.. Enough track time to have to refuel every session, which got expensive but well worth it!! I uploaded a little bit of footage to youtube.

Three days again with MassTuning at WGI.
My professional coach gave me homework based on last week laps. So I have work to do. This is the event I blew my engine last year. So if I can’t just make it home Sunday, I will be a happy man. |

Happy 2024 New Year
It has been a while since I posted and a quick update is due. My 4-way JRZs are being rebuilt by 057motorsports and ACM should have them back this coming week. This was the focus for 2024 winter project. Other than overheated oil and bent shim rear passenger (courtesy of WGI first curb at the bus stop) it wasn’t bad. Empahsize was rebuilding the controls as the clicks and precise settings of the rebound and MS compression have gotten difficult to position. Other than the JRZ, the emphasis this winter is proactivness and maintenance. Beside my personal car, I am up to my eyeballs in Carbon Ceramic Brakes topics and started a private FB group dedicated to CCB. You are welcome to join if you have interest in the topic. Took two trips to Germany to visit Rebrake factory and enjoyed the manufacturing atmosphere. Very different than my computers background. 📸 Look at this post on Facebook https://m.facebook.com/groups/296265...ibextid=lOuIew |
