Sell the Comp Wheels from a Comp Car?
Would it be dumb to sell my style 359 competition package wheels from my comp package car?
I just picked up an e90 comp package. I love the look of comps, but I don't trust myself to not eventually rub a curb from time to time. Given the market value of a clean set of used OEM comp wheels... I was thinking of selling and getting something easier/cheaper to replace if I damage one. On any other e9x I would probably just do that, but since this e90 is an oem comp package, is that just dumb to even think about? Not set on either choice here, just wondering what others' opinions are Couple key notes: - No, I will not have a second set of wheels in storage. Only one set, on the car. - Will not be selling the car for a long time, not concerned about resale.

No offense intended, but if you're too strapped for cash to replace a wheel, maybe this isn't the car for you...
You could apply your same principle to the entire car. Anything broken or damaged on an E90 M3 will cost a lot to fix. |

im not sure if this is something I would really worry about, although if youre gonna daily drive the car it would be advisable to get 18s.

How much is excellent condition set of original comps worth vs. a new set of 18" Apex arc8s? Similar, but I can go buy a new apex wheel and have it shipped tomorrow. I know BMW makes 359 still and there are other companies Here is an analogy: It's like buying a Lime Rock m3, scratching the paint, and then painting it a complete different color. That would hurt the value, right? I will probably keep the comps, just thinking out loud here. I am not a collector and never planned to get a comp package e90, but it was a clean car for a good price so why not?

I also think most people here ask silly $ for a used sets. Most people with really nice sets ask nearly the cost what for a brand new set would cost, which is precisely why I just bought brand new. Do you have a habit of curbing wheels? I mean, it's not that hard to avoid curbs |

I think this is what I have seen lol. And no I do not curb often, but I don't live in San Francisco anymore so probably not again.
Also - is a comp package e90 worth more or less if it does or does not have the comp wheels. Does that make sense? I am keeping the comp wheels for now I have decided. I think they are some of the best looking on a e90. They can handle an occasional HPDE.

If you want something new follow your heart 😂 I wouldn't because they're badass and you'll miss them. But if you are over it, yeah sell'em to me.

Personally I never sell any of my oem parts. Especially in this case with a special edition car with different/special wheels, sucks if you resell and you don't have them.

Ha. Me too. I got my brake kit. Exhaust. Trunk lip. Steering wheel… at least 2-3k in parts just taking space in my garage sometimes I get to itch to sell but I never actually do. Lol

You get more money back by installing those stock parts back on the car when you want to sell!
