Some boring updates that happened over the previous months.
Carbon Express CF spoiler (e9x m3 group buy guy has the hookup). Replaced the ECS spoiler I had that looked less OEM and had some defects. I did a shitty job installed it because the 3M tape is a bit too thick in places but I am sick of installing spoilers so I probably will leave it as is. Had to pass SMOG so I took off the Eventuri elbow for that. Went to clean the filter but it wasn't very dirty. Got an electric leaf blower for yard work and blowing water off the car after a wash. Got a radar detector and hard wired it with a mirror tap. I think it may have prevented me from getting one ticket already. Uniden R7. I find the directional arrows worth the extra cost so my head isn't spinning around. Optima Red Top battery giving me trouble. Getting battery discharge errors when I start the car sometimes. It did always start though. Previous owner installed this. Not sure how long it had been in the car. It may have started failing because I had a detailer who let the car battery drain a while back, or maybe it wasn't registered correctly? Bimmerlink didn't have it set to AGM when it should have been. Or just battery going bad. Anyway I replaced with an Antigravity Battery group H6 60Ah I bought from EAS after seeing their install thread and talking to tom @ eas I think Optima is a great value, but I was worried about the reviews and customer service over the last couple of years. I actually ordered another battery from them then cancelled once I read the horror stories from their latest batteries. Powertex lithium batteries seems like a great deal but I didn't find as much info about them and their warranty is not as long as the Antigravity. I picked the Antigravity because I was hoping for something light weight that would just work from a manufacture that will pick up the phone if something happens and I need to call. Easy install because the Optima is reasonably light to remove, although it doesn't have a handle, and the Antigravity was even lighter so you don't have to wrestle it into place. I have the Bimmerworld install kit for the Optima if anyone is looking to buy it. Optima redtop coming out Antigravity going in. Battery capacity set in Bimmercode then registered in Bimmerlink. |

Never had any luck with Optimas. Good move on the Antigravity, you'll be problem free now and have extra peace of mind with the jumpstart partition.

IB hits different, refreshing to see (from someone who has always owned white and black cars lol). Love the integrated radar, agree the directional arrows are worth the upgrade! Had a Valentine one for many years before.
Nice build! |
