There is no factory breakaway torque spec to check or anything like that I don't think, so you're left looking for leaks and noises such to show it's needing replacement

Just got my CAE shifter after a long wait, what tranny mounts are you guys using?
After some reading seems like 95A increases NVH significantly, will 80A be ok for track use? |

Start with 80A and if it grinds too often then upgrade to 95. They are super easy to swap out if need be.

In the picture is AIM RS3 gear calculations for a car that the CAN bus or the OBD does not provide the gear signal.
Can some provide the 7 gear ratios of the DCT? I can get the tire circ from Tire Rack I know my diff ratio (Axle Ratio) is 3.62 I need the DCT gear ratios |

A note about traction control.
Yesterday I dropped 2sec of my PB at PMP with my traction control off and it is the first time my PB is with DTC off. At LRP and NYST my PB is with DTC on. I also used 275/35/19 on the rear and it was the third track day for this set. That means it was moving about, in a good way, but I had to be sensible with the throttle, especially in 3rd. It also means that I was able to get it hot. temp hot front 265/35 and the rear 275/35 were similar (actually the same) This is something I have noticed when on 295/30/19 on the rear. It does not seem to get as hot as the front. So this leads to interesting thought, while 295 has more rubber on the road, if I can't get it hot enough, it may not provide more traction than a 275. Contradicting this thought is the 305/30/19 on the rear. At WGI (big track) I was on 305/30/19 and I was able to get it as hot as the front. So there you have it, no clear answer on any of these technical issues. But if any of you can provide some thoughts on sizes trade offs it would be appreciated. I am torn trying to decide among three rear sizes: 275/35/19, 295/30/19 and 305/30/19 All fits well and all have been used at LRP, PMP, NYST and WGI with no clear winner |

If I had to take a stab, I'd say there's never going to be a clear cut best choice. Which track you're on, track conditions, which fronts you're using, your still developing skills.
I used to do a lot of long range shooting in high wind conditions. Building up DOPE (Data on previous engagements) and being able to analyze that data to fit what worked in prior similar scenarios was key to getting it close the next time. Building up that DOPE is all part of the process so that in competition you're ready to go live. For me DE days are good for DOPE building, so that I have it for when I move into TT and it's time to make it count. |

Part of the problem is I know of a few shortcomings that my car has already. Fabricating parts is going to be the challenge. I'm sure I'll enjoy the content, but there are probably a few things I already know I can do, that I may not ever execute because of time and part production difficulty.

speaking of aero..
a good friend of mine Andrew Brilliant whom I've known since he's stirred the pot in his convertible AWD 2G Eclipse (and decimating the time attack scene) to now consulting for professional race teams in japan to world time attack cars. he has always took the time to answer questions in regards to my own car as well as teaching me. check him out for more ~ http://www.amb-aero.com/
