Looking at buying 245/40/18 on 5x120 rims with offset of 32-35. Will these work okay? Or need a spacer to look reasonable?

It all depends on the wheel width, but most likely you will need spacers to make it look decent with that offset.
I run M270s which are 8" ET20 with 15mm front and 25mm rear spacers and these are flush with 245 18 tyres.

I am a total novice when it comes to winter tires, so I need some help.

I have the OEM 19" rims. I am looking at the Pirelli Sottozero Serie II. Should I stagger or not? If I don't stagger, should I get 255/35R 19 on all 4? If I do stagger, Tirerack is recommending 235/35R 19 in the front and 255/35R 19 in the rear. Will this get me through a Boston winter?

This should be fine if you only have 1 set of wheels and plan on swapping tires.

My biggest recommendation though would be to try and find a set of 18's. Our Northeast roads are all generally shit come pothole season and the 19's really don't give you much sidewall to work with. You'll be OK for traction but it'll only be 1 nasty pothole before you're searching for another replacement rim.

A cheap set of 18's (I'm using the OEM 219's) will generally work better to save you. A squared setup is preferrable since you can rotate it, but also looks weird on the car if you're not running a spacer in the back.

Do you think I should do staggered or not?

I have the M359 rims for my summer set, so the OEM 19" would be my winter set. I'd prefer to not have to buy another set, but perhaps that means I'll be learning a hard lesson...

The stagger is not the end of the world. You'll be fine if you're willing to let one of the stock 220s get sacrificed. They're fairly cheap anyways.

Anyone have experience with the Yokohama Ice Guard IG52C? Thinking about getting them and running them squared. 255/35R19. Thoughts?

Just as a follow up. These tires were great for the snow/ice. I would highly recommend them.

Looks like the Sport Edition A7 wheels are discontinued. I'm having a hard time finding a reasonably priced wheel with similar specs (18x8 ET20) - anyone aware of another good alternative?
