My e92 production ended last Friday May 23th ...it may very well make it there by the 30th June... I'll soon know within a week os so.

this is the info I got from the people at PCD:
"NOTE: There will be no tours of the manufacturing plant or visits to the Zentrum available the week of June 30 - July 4, 2008 due to the plant shut-down."

I would check with your CA to make sure this is not the case. ultimately though getting on the track is what we all want to do!

I have a scheduled delivery for approx 30 June 08 as well and am asking for PDC. Certainly hope now to get a pickup AFTER July 4th...I wanna see the factory line too. My car got to port this weekend (week 21 production) so checking the WWL shipping schedules I assume I will either get a boat to Charleston 5/26 or 6/5. Then VPC and prep at PD so maybe another 2-3 weeks if it arrives on 6/8 or 6/18 puts me at the end of the month/early July correct?

Any idea of how much instruction and track time you get? Which cars?

spoke with the center reps on this...around the ff: morning the center will pick you up for your tour and car presentation at about 9am. You will then have 2 hrs with the rep explaining your car equipment and track time. You would be driving a similar car to yours, then must drive off your car home after...

sometimes Im so eager just to get my car sooner by bypassing all this and just get the car soon at the dealership.

Any thoughts from the guys who already had delivery, Is Performance delivery worth it?

as far as the delivery.......you get to drive something just like what you are picking up. so if you picking up m3, you drive an m3, picking up an m5, you drive an m5. but you dont drive your new car, you drive one the performance centers so you are able to flog it.

you do various activities on the courses at the pc. you test out dsc on the skidpad, do a slalom/autocross type thing, and a breaking exercise, and an offroad course in x5's.

if your wanting to do pc delivery you need to contact your ca asap. they fill up really quick by what i hear. i would have probably had my car a week and half or so already had i just picked it up at the dealer. it has been at vpc for almost 2 weeks now.........and still waiting.........

Mine is at the VPC as well.... getting so anxious!!!!! I ordered a M-DCT, I wonder if the "equivalent" car would have the transmission. I wouldn't mind driving the 6MT at all though...

My car should be complete on June 5th, and they're looking at a July 19th performance delivery right now. If I didn't get perf deliv, I could probably get the car about 2 weeks earlier, but along the way my build week moved 3 weeks earlier, so it works out fine with me (right after VIR driving school)

I know they have a fleet of broken in 6MTs, but don't think their M-DCTs for the track school are available yet (some of the guys down there want to drive mine when it arrives...)

I am hoping for an early June PCD; car is at the port now as I type waiting on a ship! I know a buddy who flies FEDEX as a senior captain...I wonder if it could be squeezed into a widebody L-1011 or 747?

Also have heard conflicting data re: PCD that you have to have the car registered prior to arrival and you should bring your own plates to drive away with? Is that true? I mean I have he VIN and my purchase order so registration is not an issue with the state of MD I would assume. Anybody who has been thru it already can shed some light on the registration issues?

I've bought from out of state dealers, and they send a temp tag via fedex to perf delive center. then i drive home and register in my state.

Just got the e-mail from the dealer, July 17th Performance Delivery...
I ordered it on May 8th, Production started on May 29th, it's supposed to be finished on June 5th. After the train/boat/train ride, it'll probably be thru the VPC the week of July 7th. I had about a 2 week lag from VPC to Performance Delivery on my 330i, so I got lucky on this one.

Got my info....Performance Delivery date set for July 11th...ordered back in Sept 2007 tho. Car was built week 21 and has been at port waiting on a ship for a week. They'll send me the bill of sales/import so I can register it. Since I am Mil Sales there is no stateside dealer to speak of so I get to do the leg work with BMW-NA providing me the registration info. Shouldn't be that bad/hard to accomplish....folk do it everyday on their own when they buy a car from an private party correct? Maryland my state seems pretty reasonable!
