I drove the g80 few weeks back. I thought it was a pretty damn good car, the one I saw was sat next to an f80 CS and honestly I preferred the g80. It's so much more aggressive looking than the f80.
Unfortunately I wasn't sold on the auto box replacement for the DCT and found the interior and new idrive to be way, way over complicated. The compliance in the suspension wasn't great either. The car doesn't crash over bumps or rough pavement at all but I found it transmits a lot of vertical motion to the occupants. The e92 is still the best M car ever in terms of balancing ride & handling on the road. It sounds pretty good though, handles well even if it leans too much on the traction control for rear grip on a normal surface (I'm sure it's fine on track with warm sticky tires) and the car is fast as hell and incredibly stable at high speed. The cluster graphics are really dumb as are the haptic feedback buttons located near the shifter used for setup and view changes. Could do without both of those things. Normal tach graphics and real buttons please. Best part of the car is the price and options packages. Unlike the f80 I would happily drive a 0 option car and the even with typical options the car is still less than its direct rivals. The awd version is going to be killer IMO. I wish we got the touring.

With all these big screens coming into cars, gone are the days where you can feel with your hand for a control/button without moving your eyes down to look at it. New cars want you to take your eyes off the road to switch to navigation, set your a/c etc. I think its just dumb. But what do I know, I'm just a middle-aged boomer.

Loved the video. I just wish people would start realize the e9x weighed about the same as the f8x, and stop propagating an inflated weight difference.

You can thank BMW for playing games with the DIN weight and creating this false narrative.

By the way that drag race was interesting. Neck and neck for a while.
