Car looks fantastic, great details as always. I'm with you 100% on intake + MPE, stock midpipe. There's definitely a vocal bunch among us that swear this is how S65s deserve to sound, lol!
This is interesting! |

Hi guys, I am the current owner of this wonderful e92 M3. I purchased the car in Dec from DanMPower. I currently own two M3s. The other one I own is 2013 jet black e92 base 6 speed non EDC carbon roof.
My personal preference is to keep M3 original and to maintain it to high standard. One thing I have it done is to get paint protection film. I contacted a shop (Myko Designs) in L.A. who comes to Bay Area often to do PPF. I chose to get high impact area: bumper, hood, and mirror PPF covered. Another thing that I have noticed is the wind noise. This M3 has more wind noise than my other jet black M3. Initially I thought it was due to window alignment or adjustment or door seal problem. After replacing the door seal, the noise still exists. After several days of comparison & examination, the problem actually comes from the shadowline trim pieces on both driver and passenger side. The car had both shadowline trims replaced in 2017 under warranty by its original owner due to painting bubbling. The dealer was nice to replace the trims but did not put rubber seals back in, which cause wind noise starting at 70miles per hour. Here is the link to the part. It is not difficult to replace. I am attaching a few pictures during this rubber seal installation. I do have to remove the shadowline trims to install. The end result is much much less wind noise at highway speed. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...82#51767167601 The last picture was taken with a friend's S2000 together. |

Update April 2021
After a few months of being M-less, the wife and I decided that me driving the family Odyssey every day is taking its toll on my overall well-being and happiness. It was time to hunt for the next daily driver, I really thought long and hard about what I wanted next but I can't seem to think of ANY other car that I enjoyed as much as my E9x M3s. Initially, I was hunting for another low mileage E90 ZCP with a 6MT because it made more sense as a family/fun car but damn pickings are slim nowadays. I opened up my search to include DCT as well...then I was entertaining E92s also. Honestly...I just wanted to get back into an E9x M3 ASAP! Forum member UBERV8 posted his beautiful MW E92 over 2 Tone Fox Red/Black leather a few weeks ago, I knew I needed to see this car in person. To make a long story short, it was love at first sight and now I'm the proud new owner of that car. Overall this car is really clean inside and out, just a small scratch on the front bumper but I'm planning to do the front Euro bumper conversion anyways. Initial plans are just a few preventative maintenance items, probably throttle actuators, and fluid changes. Anyways, here are some pics after taking her home. This is my 5th E9x M3 and my first in Mineral White, can't tell you how good it feels to be back in one. This thread shall live on.... Last edited by DanMpower; 04-13-2021 at 02:43 AM.. |

Congrats back to E9x world.
Consider mine is picky as well, However I can't see the car in person and then just bought it and ship it from CA, the result came to make me very satisfied with the overall car condition. You have the exact same car with me just I don't have EDC... Two tones black and Fox red is my favorite, favorite........ Enjoy!

I call this one Johnny 5 , funny thing was while I was looking for an E90 ZCP, I almost bought an Audi RS 3. Had a deposit on one, funds ready to be dispersed, transport truck on standby, etc.. turned out the car didn't have an option package that I wanted so I didn't move forward. Probably a blessing in disguise because I don't think anything sub 100k will satisfy me without an S65 under the hood.
I just need to realize that I'm destined to always have an E9x M3 in the garage, although I might add a new GR86 to the stable later this year as well... |

As for DCT vs Manual- I'm a little biased since I love rowing my own gears but DCT is still an amazing transmission. It's been over a week now since owning this car and I still find myself clutching in at a stop or when I go to start her up in the morning only to find no clutch pedal. I would jump ship if I find a clean low mileage, ZCP MR E90 6MT slicktop, but the chances of that happening are probably zero so I'm sticking with this car for a while. I'd be lying though if I said I didn't miss the manual already so I'll probably add a manual car to the stable to get my fix. |

Next best manual car would be M2 CS manual.
I hope I can add one in the coming 5 years.

I had an F30 328i with Bootmod3 and xHP trans tune and it was amazing going through angeles crest. The ease and speed of shifting was something i was beginning to love but still missed the engagement of a 6 speed. I drove an DCT F82 for a few days - the downshifts and aggressive upshifts were really addicting. I think the only solution is to own both, haha. |
