Winter driving and salt
I don't have to drive my M3 everyday, but I still drive it 1-2x per week regardless of the weather- to keep the battery healthy and it's just too much fun.
How do others maintain their M3s during the winter. I am most concerned about corrosion from the salt on the road. Other than regular car wash (I don't even know how effective they are), what else can I do? |

I drive the car, but try to wash it every couple of weeks. Been doing this for 10 years and the car still looks presentable. Certainly not perfect, though, at 110k miles of year round use in NH. I’d rather use the car than try to preserve it for the next owner.

Mines a daily driver until it snows. I never drive it if there's salt on the road. Maybe try buying a beater car for 3k or less?
Or just wash the undercarriage frequently. Get all the salt off as well. Sealant or ceramic coating will help make washes easier. Battery tender as well. |
