Front: -1.2* (all they could get, pins pulled) .04 (~1/32) total toe in 7.2* caster Rear: -1.7* camber .09 (~1/16) total toe in Im happy with the toe and rear camber for now but a little disappointed in the front camber, think Dinan plates are in my future. Tires are awesome, no surprise there. |

Sorry, haven't checked springs yet.
I aimed for max negative front camber and was hoping to see -1.8*, realistically expecting -1.6-1.7*. But -1.2* was disappointing. Dinan camber plates in hand and going on soon, should get to -2.0* with them. Which is nice, but didnt really want the 1/5 height increase (although maybe the fabric under trays may last longer, haha). Last edited by wyatth; 10-11-2019 at 06:31 PM.. |

Ohlins coilover - the rest all stock. More responsive steering, fast turn-in response with 0 front toe and -1.5 camber. Feeling very good.
Camber: -1.5 front (pins pulled) -1.35 rear Toe In: 0 front 3/32" rear Caster +6.75

Zero front toe: Not many people do this, but I too have it in my M3. Learned this (simple ) trick from my Porsche tuner. The result, very fast turn-in response, is fantastic.

It seems like there is a large range of rear toe numbers here. For a dual duty car with -2.5' and zero toe up front and -1.9' camber in the rear what should I do for the toe?

2011 Comp, H&R sport in the front only. SPL adjustable caster bushings.
West End Alignment in Los Angeles. The only shop Ill let touch my cars. They get every spec exactly where you want it. Its 40 mins away but still totally worth it. Front Toe -3/32 Camber L -2.1 R -2.2 Caster L 7.5 R 7.5 Rear Toe -3/32 Camber L -1.7 R -1.7 I asked for zero toe, but the techs recommended slight toe in to combat the negative camber for tire wear and for stability. Consensus seemed to be zero toe was best, but they explained it wasnt. They said neg camber wears the inside edge, and toe in puts strain on the outside edge. Make sense, time will tell! |

Finally got my car aligned, and corner balanced. Glad I did, as my previous alignment was pretty awful. Let me know what you guys think of my current alignment.. |

I think it matches on both sides.

I originally requested zero toe up front, the guy who owned the shop that was aligning my car recommended he add a little toe the exact reason why I dont exactly remember. He had a good reason though, something in regards to it evening something out, and when the car is on the road it will end up balancing out to feel like it has zero toe. Wish I remembered what he said. He builds / aligns race cars that podium in 24hr / spec races all across the country so I trusted his input.

No, generally toe is a negative measurement. Or, "toe in". Meaning the front of the wheel points towards the engine. Toe out is the opposite.
Generally speaking, the more toe in there is, the better the car will put down power. As power is applied, or as you exit a corner, the suspension squats and the wheel will straighten out. This is why you would want toe in. On our cars, the bushings/rear suspension doesn't dynamically change the alignment a whole lot. So this is why we see very little toe (1/16 - 3/32"). On other cars with softer bushings or that doesn't have a multi link rear such as miatas, s2000, etc (double wishbone), you will see upwards of an 1/8" of toe in. So consider us lucky. Yeah...that's the last time I'll be taking my car to a local alignment shop. Luckily MRF did an alignment after installing my subframe bushings, end links & sway bars and the car feels a lot more neutral. Going to throw in more spherical bushings in the next few months and will have my car properly scaled & aligned at WR Teknica.
