Indeed! I've started with NASA back in 2016, spent about 2 years in the DE groups, and I'm on year #2 in time trial and instructing. Awesome group of people for sure and ran quite well considering how large the events are

It's up to you to decide how much weight you put on OEM fluid approvals. BMW has very strict requirements to ensure high-quality fluids are used that can handle hard use, high temps, won't break down, etc. That being said, some blenders might decide they don't want to spend the money getting the OEM approvals (they're quite expensive). Red Line, for example, takes the approach that their reputation outweighs an OEM approval. Does their stuff meet OEM approvals? Maybe.

The OEM Castrol fluids are a great choice too. We know they've been tested and validated for the M3 and will meet BMW's requirements. But you also have companies like Motul who have race-proven products and put more focus on a specific use case.

Everyone's car is a little different as is the usage. It's hard to make a blanket recommendation until you actually get the fluid analyzed. I don't think OEM is a bad choice, but you have a lot of reliable race-focused fluids if you're willing to spend more and run shorter intervals.

Whoa. Isn't it standard practice to run without center caps on track? I never put them in my track wheels now! One less thing to worry about
If you still have center caps, you're not going fast enough!

Is it normal for sway bar end links like this to click a bit? They call it their "quiet" end link kit but frankly it has been the exact opposite.

Sonoma or Laguna Seca.

Look at local PCA chapter or NASA.

Motorsportsreg.com, nasaproracing.com, or clubregistration.net are sites to find local events.

For first event, you don't need much. A helmet, good tires, pads with good life remaining, and a brake flush.

Sounds good. Thank you.. I am in process rebuilding the brake. Should I grab a set of track pads or just street pads? (planning to put on the Akebono after rebuild)

track pad are definitely better at track, but you have to bed them in properly and most people don't and then think they have damaged their rotors. For first time out, a fresh set of street pads will probably be fine.

I always grease the threads and lock them the fuq down hard

If any more noise occurs then it's a cheap/ worn heim and should look at other options

in my experience in the offroad world, the noise coming from those is going to be the heims. are they squeaky or clunky?

If I were starting over again, I'd recommend starting off with https://searspointracing.com/program...iving-courses/

One nice order:
Car-control clinic
Stage 1
Stage 2
Stage 3

That would be a really nice ramp-up. They don't do in-car instruction, but with coronavirus that's pretty standard now. I believe the feedback is delivered real-time, over microphones/headsets. Classroom time and car control is key to laying down a good foundation if you haven't yet, then ramping things up

I know my Bimmerworld short links I had to get for my MCS are far more loose at the joint than my outgoing SPL links. That alone makes them seem like they'll start making noise much sooner. So far ok though. I do have another friend with them and he mentioned that his inevitably start making noise after a while if he readjusts.

Looks like there's a deal on do88 parts. 10% isn't bad at all.

If anyone wants to arrange a group buy for a bigger discount, I'm in.
