2012 e92 M3 NO SOUND! Please help!
Hi, Everyone.
I just bought a 2012 e92 M3 but there is NO sound from the radio, GPS and door / alarms chimes?? the head unit and GPS all works just no sound. I look at the trunk and know there maybe aftermarket amp installed but removed now? I be believe i have optional sound system since the front speaks is clear and not black? I can tell there is two wiring share power from the OEM amp but what is the red wiring that run all the way into the front of the car? Also the black patch thing next to the combox? |

The last picture where you circled brown & red/blue is in fact power. The other connector bellow it is a MOST (fiber) connector. The connector bellow that one is the speaker wiring harness. The first picture with wires on terminals with screws is shananagans and not OEM. Look for another MOST connector (green/black protected) not plugged into anything.....if you find this buy a MOST terminator and terminate it and sound may be back. I would expect another most connector somewhere around that vacant spot with the dynamat material placed.

You didn't test drive the car before you bought it? As far as I know, the amp should be on the left side of the trunk, right behind and below the tail light. It should not be in the center of the trunk. Looks to me like previous owner modded the sound system, then removed the sound system before passing the car to you.
