CCC To CIC Upgrade Question
Has anyone personally done this? I've found a bunch of threads but I'm running into some conflicting information and I was hoping I could talk to someone who has actually done it to make sure I'm understanding everything properly as far as what I need to still get for the upgrade. Thanks!

I found a killer deal on the head unit, screen, and controller so I'm trying to figure out the rest but I just can't seem to get a straight answer on a few things.

Ok, so here are the parts I already have:
Headunit Screen Controller From research, it looks like i need: Video Cable https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...SABEgKMyvD_BwE Usb Port for Glovebox https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/84109237656/ USB Cable https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/61129255716/ Here is the part where I am having some trouble. Some people are saying you need an emulator (https://www.ebay.com/itm/271677886583) and some people are saying it's plug and play and you can code around it. i have 0 idea about the coding part so I really don't know which way to go from here. Any input would be greatly appreciated! If there is anything else I'm forgetting or anything unnecessary please let me know!

Don't quote me on this but my understanding is that you can code in the CIC into your car relatively easily using the build date trick (if needed) to add/update your VO.
The problem is that this won't enable some features like satnav, or rear view camera. For this you need a special cable (connects to the MOST network), or the OBD port activator or the vin emulator you mention. Without this, the radio will work fine just without the goodies. |

Search for cic script activation, it requires you to have the latest firmware on the cic in order to be able to do it without an icom.
I sent mine to a guy on the forum that updates the firmware and activated nav. Then sends it back to you coded to your VIN. You also need the power connector for the cic screen which you will use to repin the existing wires. |
