2011.5 E92 (DCT) Alpine white

-Comfort Access, Navi, rear sun shade, sun roof, no EDC, no premium sound.

57,000 miles with lots of upgrades including BC coilovers, ZCP wheels, CF spoiler front and rear and CF bonnet.

Cost me around $24k which i think its a bargain.

Thanks! I'm super stoked on it.

According to the shop that did it, they did, Rear main, carb cleaning, new plugs, valve cover gaskets, replaced clutch slave, engine and trans mounts were replaced, fuel injectors (can't recall if it was cleaning or replacing). I'm sure there were a few other things as well. I just find it so odd that they would recommend all of that to the first owner...and NOT say, "Hey, rod bearings are a pretty serious deal, we should do those too." Lol!

do you have proof of all this work with a receipt? sounds kinda suspicious that someone would dump 13 grand into a car then sell it. Either way, good pick up indeed !

Yup!

This was actually done Feb 2, 2018 at around 161K miles. The PO traded it into the dealership around 11/2019 at around 172K miles for a new M2 Comp. I actually emailed him, he said he fell in love with the M2 comp and the carbon roof on the E92 M3 was peeling and really starting to bug him, lol! From there, the story gets a bit more complex but long story short, I bought it from the dealership that got it from the auction. They were asking $11,900, I offered $9500, we settled on $10,500

Also worth noting, the dealership I bought it from didn't have service records. I tracked down the first owner/PO, he was nice enough to answer my questions and give me the name of the places that serviced it!

Great price and great find getting that history. Now you have plenty of room to invest in RB and other things. Enjoy it!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm excited. Already ordered a full brake refresh. I need to finish my S2000 build as I plan on SC'ing that before REALLY diving into the E92...but man, I really want to start on the M3! Plus, I'm really curious to feel the E92 on track Vs my S54 swapped E36!

I'm sitting at 120K miles.. put about 30 on it since purchase, and it's still rock solid. Just general S65 maintenance at this mileage, which isn't cheap, and I did BE RBs at 96K but it's still never not started, runs strong, and generally feels much younger than it is every day.

Any plans for the exhaust?

Great info, thanks! Yeah, tbh the S54 we put into my E36 had 104K when we bought it. We did RB & vanos on that, it's my little track monster & she runs amazing!

No solid plans yet for the E92. Get the RB done, hopefully the ABS is the module that I can send off to ModuleMaster. I have brake refresh coming this week. Once I supercharge the S2000 and put on the new soft top, that project will be done and I can really dive into the E92!

Wow thats the opposite of my story. I was thinking about the M2 Comp. I had my E92 in for maintenance and asked the salesman to walk me through the M2 Comp in the showroom. He started the thing up for me, and offered to get it out of the showroom so I could drive it. At that point I decided to be happy with my E92. The exhaust noise from the M2 was... lackluster.

Double wow. That peeling roof is an easy fix. Either sand and clear the original or just replace the panel. The replacement is easier than the re-clear.

I believe you have the record low for a non-wrecked E9x. Whenever you can part the car out and make money over your purchase price, yet the thing still looks decent and performs well, you scored. And you definitely scored.

Yeah, I absolutely love the M2 regardless but man, the new M's just don't have the sound I go for at all.

That was my thinking too! To fix the peeling carbon roof is one of the easier things to do for sure!

Funny you should mention that. My "excuse" for all of these project cars is to turn them into Youtube videos. I'm not much of a content creator or anything like that but I figure, if I'm going to be spending this much time/energy on these projects, it would be amazing if at some point they at least paid for themselves, lol! Anyways, unfortunately I think the title for this video will be, "Buying The Cheapest E92 M3 In The Country", lol.

I did quite a bit of searching and couldn't find anything with a clean title for this price. I happened to get very lucky that it was a 6MT, carbon roof, 1 owner. Although, the seller I'm dealing with isn't the best. It's a long...hopefully entertaining story once I'm finished dealing with him, lol.

I think you beat all of the deals those car-flipping kids in Florida have been doing. I can't think of the name of their channel but they've done some good work and they obviously know their stuff. You could probably have the start of something similar there.

BTW: that 6MT will be the thing that draws in any buyers if you decide to sell. That, plus a clean title and no sunroof go a long way.

That's what drew me in! I've always been a MT guy and I'm not knowledgeable enough to work on a DCT. I definitely won't be flipping it anytime soon though. This thing is going to be an absolute gas! I just went out and ripped the E36 and man, I absolutely love the S54 in that chassis. I can't wait to see how the S65 compares.

You got a deal for sure. That is easily a mid 30's car. I picked up pretty much the same car as this except in interlagos blue with 5k more miles 5 days before you lol

I love the Interlagos Blue. If there would have been one closer to me, I definitely would have paid a bit more for it. This one just seemed like a good deal and was only ~100 miles away from me.

I love it so far. Hope you're enjoying yours too!

I'd say thats a good buy, more so because its 2013. Is it a late or early production car?

I agree it was a good deal. If you were in the market for one then it's pretty much a no brainier and you have to pick it up. Mine was only 200 miles away too. Loving it so far !
