Would I post that in this thread or am I allowed to post it as a new thread? Also I have made some posts but my pictures turn out absolutely massive, how do I make the pictures a better size for viewing on a computer?

Post a new one! Post in the General or Photos/Video/Media section. Typically new owner/forum member posts are safe from the trolls so long as you don't post it somewhere obscure like the exhaust forum ha!

I could be wrong but if you upload pics through the app (easiest way) then they should auto re-size. Someone help me if I'm mistaken!

From the app, you go to settings, uploads, and then choose a size. I can't remember which one worked best, but I had to try a couple of different ones.

Exactly that. I cut the boot at the base of the shifter. I added a few dabs of adhesive on the underside to help the alcantara stay in place plus a zip tie. I was putting it off for awhile because I didn't want to cut it. I've been on the look out for a dct shifter for sale as well, just so I'll have one as back up in case I screw up. But today I got bored and decided to do it. It is actually pretty straight forward. No different than the ebrake boot. Just use a sharp exacto knife and it'll give you a clean cut. I like it now that is done.

Also apparently you can take apart the dct shifter. But the alcantara don't have enough material to stretch all the way up the shift knob. But Ill be the first buyer if someone makes one like that.

Btw I am still looking for a dct shifter, complete with boot and base clip. If anyone selling one please let me know. I'll like to have one on hand.
Lol literally in the same boat. Been looking for an extra dct to test on. I'll give it a try. I upgraded my ebrake with alcantara n it looks killer!!

Took the long way home from work, top down, redlines and rev matching downshifts, MPE howling, sun shining.

If there is a better combination than Northern CA and this car I can't imagine it.

Put on OEM pads and rotors last night. I believe the fluid was topped off when the pads were pretty worn out so I ended up spitting fluid out the reservoir and went all over the place when I pushed the pistons all the way back. Had to take half the car apart to clean everything.

Pretty easy job but when I'm up to speed and hit the brakes I hear a whirling type sound. Sort of like a jet engine shutting down as I slow down. It made the sound even before I bed them in. No pulling or vibration or anything out of the normal. Hoping it will go away in time.

^ Doubt it will, you probably got fluid on the vacuum sensor and fried it. Not the end of the world but not the cheapest/easiest fix either.

Unfortunately highly likely. Just a few drips on the sensor and it is fried. Eventually limp mode will pop up. 27e4 code.

Shuffled vehicles around a bit to get my E92 out of storage and in for its annual service—on the drive to the dealership finally crested 15k miles. The loaner vehicle was a fun experience, being fitted with an X3M Competition. Crazy torque available at an instant and almost entirely throughout the operating RPM range. The new S powerplant is certainly a fun piece of kit with an exhaust note that isn't offensive (looking at you, S55.) I'm afraid I may be hitting an inflection point with technology however as I was far too distracted by all the buttons in the new vehicle. Many paddles on the steering wheel and a center console surrounded by controls to adjust power, steering, suspension, transmission, exhaust, etc. While fun to configure, it was/is too much for my taste. Also noted how large the new X3 is when driving alongside the past-generation X5!

Not trying to start an "E9x m3 > every M3 after that" but is the S58's exhaust sound an improvement to the S55?
