Ahh stock calipers, makes sense. I have always had stoptechs and get a crazy amount of life out of the 08's, but I probably don't overheat them either as I tend to do shorter sessions.

I haven't used the PFC 08s in over 5 years as they don't make that pad compound for the ST-60 kit. I have 2.5" brake ducting. I just ran through a set of PFC11s in 3.5 days with BFG R1/285 tires. I have about the width of the backing plate left so time to replace. I frequently brake hard enough to activate ABS which may increase wear. :

Well, outside of the 1.7 at MSR, a majority of the tracks we're driving are pretty hard on braking... Specifically ECR comes to mind. All those 100mph straights to 40-50mph corners are not doing our brake pads any favors lol

Interesting. I guess I'll keep an eye on mine as I run. I have seen really long life on the 08's but again, I tend to do shorter sessions and often am on 100/200TW instead of the really sticky stuff which tends to keep the demands a little lower. A 'day' for me is usually 50-60 laps or 5x 15-20 min sessions. I can see how that would be significantly different from someone else's 6-7x 30-min sessions constituting 1 day.

Depending on how hard you brake PFC11 will outlast PFC08.

PFC11 is also very quiet once bedded in whereas the PFC08 always makes lots of noise.

For what it's worth, I have been on the same set of DS1.11 for two years and they still have some life left- they're the thicker 25mm ones up front. No ducting for my APs and I've probably put 20-30 days on them/roughly 4000 hard miles (traction fully off)

Wow - I stopped looking for the PFC08s years ago! Good to know they're out there. I'm pretty happy with the PFC11s and Cobalt Friction products, but the 08s are less expensive. I run similar sessions as you, but I can't stop overdriving the car!

Has anyone used these? Seems like an outdated product but has a history of success - might be worth it. Found this description - "83 Compound was the original super high torque compound. The torque curve rises with heat to handle the most extreme applications. Requires finesse and control. Replaced by 13 Compound." Sounds more like the Cobalt Friction XR1s or PFC13s and would take some getting used to - requires lighter touch/more finesse - especially release when trail braking.

We discussed it a bit in the last page and there was this post from someone who ran them - https://www.m3post.com/forums/showpo...ostcount=11403

BW said it's fine to pair with PFC 08/11 rears, just a personal preference.

I found the “sounds like a garbage truck braking” noise of the 08’s to be effective in getting dipsticks who were wandering aimlessly around the paddock out of my way!

Yeah, fully gutted with cage and aero. You can check out the build in my sig. No videos worth posting up, but I'm pretty hard on the brakes.

Recently got a 1:27 at Big Willow

I'm shocked!😁

I'm finally starting to do less sideways stuff. I just keep the power slide skill set in my back pocket for whenever I have a colossal f-up.

It's tough...because drifting out of turns makes the guys hot for you!!!🤣
