Exciting news! On the 18th I'm taking my car into my bf's shop and the guy who does all his custom fabrication is going to design and make my tips. We talked extensively about it at the track the other day so he knows exactly what I want/need and he thinks the best solution is to just make them. As soon as I have them I'll post pics of the tips before I install them, then also pics with them on the car. If you come up with something before then def let me know too. So ready to check this project off my list!!

So sorry, been super busy with summer. Haven't been on the forum much. The tips we ordered have been sitting on the work bench for weeks lol. Not this weekend (Labor Day), but the weekend after we have our fabrication guy coming to the shop on that Saturday and we're going to swap back my stock muffler so that we have the ATAK to work with. I will def post once we are finished, I have not forgotten about this thread

Teaser pic
We spent a few hours yesterday messing around with the replacement tips we ordered. I had to compromise a little bit on the diameter of the tips as the space between the outlet pipes on the muffler was pretty large, so had to go with something slightly larger than I originally imagined. By the end of the day the tips were pretty well situated, but we're going to do one more test fit before the final welding. Also, going to have them powdercoated, so I'll post pics once the process is complete. |

Finally got this all finished up. I took the close up pics at a good enough angle so you could see what the tips look like. They only stick out about 1/2" more than the ones on my stock muffler did, but they look a little longer cuz of the angle on the pics. The process was pretty time consuming, but it took a little longer for me since the fab guy at my bf's shop is really busy and I didn't feel it was appropriate to blow him up about my little side project they didn't even charge me for. I feel like this could be done over the course of a weekend or two if you have access to a quick powdercoating guy. To DIY you would just need to be super OCD to ensure good results - the lining up process while tack welding the tips into place was a bit time consuming. I wanted something simple and understated, but the tips we used are long enough that you could cut them at an angle if you like, and you can make them longer or shorter as desired. From what I was told, attaching the tips was a little tricky, they were welded on after the bend in the outtake pipes on the muffler. But, if you’re a patient and experienced welder, or know someone who is, it shouldn’t be a problem. If you want a simple single wall tip like this to use as a base to custom make something for your ATAK let me know and I can find out where he got the tips from. I can see if he has pics of the process too, so a better view can be seen of exactly where/how he welded the tips on.

Awesome work! That looks tons better! I'd definitely be interested in what tips they used. I had sort of assumed when looking into this it would be a long tip that has to be custom cut to length. They did an excellent job getting this tips perfectly straight too! Especially with the weird angle they attach at
