It’s an easy DIY. I think there’s a few options but I bought earthquake sws8 speakers. All you need is a screwdriver torx bits and a T50. Do not unplug the seat at all. Slide the seat forward unscrew the T50 bolts slide it back and unscrew two more then push the whole assembly back and you’ll see the cover unscrew cover then unscrew the speaker and unplug. Plus new one in re screw everything, done. Takes 15min

Bavarian Soundworks (Bavsound/BSW) makes a nice set of drop-in replacements called Ghost Subwoofers that should be an easy improvement.

Very likely. A simple multimeter can confirm this.

This just happened to me and the problem is the wire between the subwoofer connection and actual woofer burnt out. When you remove the subwoofer you’ll see the problem. I was told the oem units have this problem from listening to music too loud/too high of bass. To fix them you either have to replace with bavsound or repair the wire within the subwoofer.
People told me it was the amp since both stopped working but what most likely happened is that you didn’t notice when the first went out and the second followed soon after. |

Is there an easy way for me to find out whether it's the amp or the subwoofer? I went to a shop the other day and they said they charge $100 to diagnose the problem. I'm hoping for a cheaper solution lol.

If you intend to buy any used parts, it is unlikely that your system was made by Harmon Kardon if you have Enhanced Premium Sound.

The new speaker. Once the cover is off there’s a few screws holding the speaking in, remove and replace the speaker. The subs die a lot. It’s a thin wire running on the speaker itself so after all the vibration it’s bound to fail so most likely it’s the subs. If you’re still curious turn the music up and put your hand on the all the speakers. Only some vibrate then it’s the speakers
