Nissan GX-R
Anyone read this months car and driver with the Nissan GT-R? wow what a car. For the same price as our M3's the GT-R is putting up Porsche GT2 numbers.. Looks like that may be the deal of the year... Only 12,000 coming to US. Anyone seen one yet?
In NO way am I saying anything negative about our M3's.. Just starting a conversation in regards to the GT-R. i have to point this out so I don't get blasted.... |

Yes, this topic would be more fitting for the General Autmotive (non-BMW) section of this forum.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=36 and what is a GX-R?

12,000 is world-wide production, they say 1500 cars to the US. It's really a scam, IMO since the US is by far the largest car market in the world, they should get (IDK) 40% of the production.
The US dealers really loving having the people pay +$20K or more, I have read some +$60K for some. Maybe it's just a matter of time, but right now it's not a $72K car, it's a $93K car which makes it not a great comparison to the M3. It's the same as $500 a month (about) more. I think it's mainly the US dealers that are keeping the numbers low. Lets say at list they make $5K profit on the car. Now if they make $30K on each one they can just sell 3 cars a year and make more profit than if they had 10 cars to sell. I even asked about waiting list for MSRP and none of the dealers wanted anything to do with me. They (US dealers) are looking for the quick buck instead of trying to make an honest buck. It's like that joke where one bull says lets run down and f- one of those cows and the other bull says no lets walk down and f- em all. It would make more sense for me if Nissan would make more for the US market and get rid of the dealer mark-ups. I don't mean the first cars but if I was willing to wait 6 months then I don't see why they can't make more cars like BMW is with the M3. |

nissan has never sold the gt-r in the states....they dont know how many they are going to sell...therefore they will keep numbers imported to the states small in order to cover their asses...not a scam just smart business.

well if (as one dealer told me) they have 20 people on the list for 3 cars a year, don't you think that's an indication that they can sell and if Nissan brought more over that would mean less mark-ups.
I will say the M3 is on order for the main reason that Nissan has mark-ups and BMW does not. If the M3 wanted +$20K I would not buy it and since Nissan is going with the limited production (for the US) and the dealers won't even have a list unless it's for +$10K for the GTR then they lost a good paying buyer and I will say it's mainly for the dealers wanting mark-ups. I am not getting into an argument over this, but probably I have looked at buying a GTR more then most people here so I think I have a feel and the dealers (IMO) are really giddy over they huge mark-ups they think they can get and that's only cos there is a limit on supply. With the M3 no real limit so no mark-ups. |

Sure they will. Each dealer is only getting 2 or 3 this year. They will find some sucker, ... ahem, um ... , I mean buyer willing to pay the markup.

It is cute, matches my wife, heard yours is nasty. If my D!ck was as small of as yours I'd also buy a big manly 4.8 X5 to compensate. I've ordered my M with SSII since it has a baby blue color to it i might even put pink decals on it. It takes are real man to be confident in their masculinity- clearly you are not.
Not only don't you know how to use the search, but clearly you also don't know how to read- M3 thread = M3 talk, General Automotive = cars in general. I thought it was hilarious i almost wet myself- actually i though it was a pretty lame comeback. |
