You're insane...a CNC machine in your shop?

Nice shop sir! Having a machining center is a nice touch to any garage.

I think these are cool, but I worry about dissimilar metal issues with aluminum up against steel. You've see what your hub looks like when you pull your wheel away, granted the hub isn't painted and wheel cleaners can be aggressive. Aluminum + steel + water (and salt in my part of the world) adds up to accelerated corrosion. Maybe anodization or paint the interface? Maybe the paint on the body of the car is enough?

A thin piece of rubber between the body and the pad should do the trick.

i already mentioned this. the term you are looking for is galvanic corrosion. as long as the dissimilar metals have a protective coating, its fine.

I'll likely have them black anodized. Got them mounted on the car now.

I like too!

Have you tested yet to make sure they support the weight of the vehicle and don't crack or crunch?

Looks super cool. If you can make a production run and make a little $$ for your efforts would be pretty neat.

These are plenty strong, both in terms of load rating and durability compared to the stock plastic parts. I've got one or two jobs to get running on the machine before these, but I do have the material on hand now. So sometime in the next month or so I'll get going on them. This is all done in my "free time", which with 3 kids and a real job is pretty limited.
