While filming parts of the original Thomas Crown Affair, Steve McQueen rode a horse past my house nearly every day for a week in South Hamilton, Ma on the way to the polo field and terrorized the North Shore of Massachusetts in his Ferrari.
He was really nice to us kids (12 years old) and put up with our hi jinks including me accidentally kicking over Fay Dunaway's champagne glass at the close of shooting.

Us kids were all hanging around by his red ferrari that was parked on the grass along with the stars and we were pretty awestruck. Faye was a little pissy when I did that but understandably so. The funny thing is I remember thinking "why do these famous people look so different up close?" They have something on their face!
The street he used to ride by was Elm Street where i lived and it was about 10 feet wide. After I kicked over the champagne glass, and the movie came out, I was saddened to learn my cameo of saluting the flag during the start spangled banner with my friends had been cut!
All this made quite an impression on a 12 year old kid.
