Rod Bearings South Louisiana
Hey guys,
In the info gathering stage. Any recommendations for a shop to do rod bearings in the south Louisiana area? I can drive across the state in the south if needed, but I'm in Baton Rouge. The local BR shops here only want to use oem stock, and can't "understand" why I would preventatively do such a thing! So I'm looking for help finding a place that has good experience, allows me to bring my own parts, and is a fair priced shop. Thanks |

I have used Greff Motors for all my maintenance since coming off warranty though I’ve not done the bearings yet. Uptown Auto also does work on my Z3 and 2002tii...

Can you let me know if you found someone to do Rod Bearings and if you did get them done yet? I am in the New Orleans area, my car has 55K and I will be wanting to get this done also. Thank you, Lonnie

No it's a joke around here. Decided I will be driving to Dallas. Mporium will do it. Deansbimmers ...they charge like 2400. Planning on going in October.

I'm at 77,xxx miles and am thinking about this. Have not spoken with Greff about doing the RB's yet but not surprised at TigerTater found. Have Deansbimmers on my radar as well for this...

I ended getting mine done at Moss Motors in Lafayette. It was $5k but they also did valve cover gaskets and the rear main seal. Additionally, the work and parts were warrantied for 2 years. That's what sealed my decision. And they gave me a loaner.
From the service manager, in writing: "Correct, if any of the parts that are used fail, they will be replaced. To add to that, let’s say the rod bearings fail completely and cause a catastrophic failure of the engine, then whatever components need to be replaced(even a complete engine assembly), would be covered under consequential damage. And just to confirm, all components / parts you pay for will be covered under that 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. " |

So glad the bearings were replaced on my car just before I bought it. Still good to see feedback on some of the local shops.
