My car went into limp-mode a few days ago and BMW shop discovered that I've got a bad vacuum line sensor (part num 34302283605). The top of the sensor has a light coating of brake fluid and I've got the 10-20 second buzzing sound coming from OBD port area after hard presses on the brake pedal. This seems like a relatively straightforward job so I'm looking to save myself ~$1k and DIY it.
Has anyone successfully replaced just the faulty sensor or is everyone doing a full hose replacement? Based on this pic, it seems like the sensor is just held onto the hose by a couple of torx screws: https://3a663eb0fef48c6d2d60-a88f8eb...08464_x800.jpg This is making me think that as long as I can get access to the old sensor's torx screws, I should be able to fix this without taking off the master cylinder and reservoir. Has anyone out there attempted this? |

Specifically here's how I did it: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...4&postcount=14 It ended up being easier than I was hyping it up to be. The most important thing will be having a second person to help you and a few types of long hooks and/or clamps to work down in there. Let me know if you have any questions. |

Thanks so much for the help guys! My friend and I were able to swap out the sensor in ~1-1.5 hours last night. Trickiest part was getting the new sensor into the right position. Car is no longer throwing warnings at me and buzzing noise on hard brake presses has gone away.

Running into this issue now. I've had code 27E3 come on twice in the last 1k miles.
I had a bbk installed earlier this year and then the ESS 625 a few months ago. Guess I'll be replacing the sensor as well. Can anyone else chime in on their recent experiences?

does anyone have a part number for just the sensors? or do I need to buy the hose+sensor and just use the sensor?

You can zoom in and read 861709701, but a google search turns up parts from alibaba (chinese knock offs). More searching lead to BMW p/n 13628617097, as images of that BMW sensor show p/n 861709701 Want to buy 13628617097 and let us know? |

Can't quite make out the last number in the part number in the pic from fcp euro.
Second and third line don't match, but those numbers seem to be production batch/date anyway. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...or-13628617097

And to be clear, I did not replace the vacuum line (and you shouldn't have to either), I just took the sensor off the new vacuum line and put it on my old line (which was never removed from the car).

Bumping this, I went ahead and tested the theory of using p/n 13628657300 which is just a sensor. Labeled as a diff pressure sensor for LOADS of bmw models. I bought a used one with 20k on it from an x2 I believe. Worked just fine, I'm not surprised, a sensor is a sensor. The wiring to the ecu determines how said sensor is read and functions. As long as the numbers match on the sensor its good.
