Ugh i've traumatizing experiences with the dws I used to run on my 330. I will likely try their new extremecontact on my X5 next year as they don't make the pss in those sizes

Alright thanks for the info have ran the 275/35 before on my 10in wheels but have changed those specifically to autox wheels so i run the re71 285 square. just picked up a set of arc8 and put the r888r which have not been bad for the 2 days i have run but have had better tires. Dont remember the pice i paid for them but it was a steal so guess i cant complain.

Only other experience with Toyo was with R888 on an E36 M3 club racer -- I felt they were only 'ok' at best but only after shaving. The BFG R1 is vastly superior in every aspect. All four cars now run Michelins for street driving (PSS, PSS, PS2ZP, PSAS3+).

If you can fit the 275/40 in the back (it's only one size larger than stock, similar to running 275/35-19 in the rear like I do now) without rubbing, I would try that route since you can't rotate anyway. It will theoretically give a tad more longitudinal grip as the contact patch shape is changed slightly with the larger diameter. Anyway, it would be fun to experiment with.

^Still curious on the A052 also, we may have to look to other platforms for reviews.
So I still run a staggered Apex EC-7 wheel set (10" et25 fronts and 10.5" et27 rears) and recently came across a good deal on 265/35R18 and 295/30R18 Cup 2's. With COTA coming up I couldn't help myself, should be here Thursday! If anyone is interested, LINK. A square set of 265's would be an insane bargain for Cup 2's.

I've actually run Cup 2's before on my prior car (Audi S4) and they were phenomenal. Looking back at my videos the sustained peak G's in corners are around 1.2G (similar to what I see with the re-71r) but my impression is that the Cup 2's were a little more comfortable there. My skill level has increased a bit since then so we'll see! One anecdote, I had a late braking exercise with the Cup 2's once where I hit 1.4G's and the tires didn't even lock, it was awesome, still made the turn where I wanted to make it. One other note, unlike the re-71r's the Cup 2's seem to need a lap or so to warm up. I forgot this once and almost spun in the warm-up lap. Then I don't recall this but I am hoping on hotter days that the Cup 2's will last longer than the re-71r's before getting greasy. Again, tbd, will report back!

So after all the hype, unfortunately the 265/35R18 Cup 2's are on backorder for ~6 weeks. The shop was willing to honor the good price but I just can't wait that long. They may price match the A052's for me instead, which would be great! Will report back.

Oh damn. Fortunately I just got a set from tire rack. These were going to be for spares. I can wait. Did they reach out to you? I placed my order and didn't hear anything.

I got an email from FedEx that shipping labels had been created so I thought I was set, then I got a call from them a few days later saying the warehouse they go through didn't have any in stock. Too good to be true I guess, waiting to hear back from them to see if I can get a deal on something else.

Has anyone tried Pirelli Corsa System tires? They are offered in the same 265/35R18 and 295/30R18 staggered fitment as Cup 2's and A052's.
