Valve steam caps: Dorman 609-130 TPMS Grey Plastic Sealing Valve Cap. I bought a box of 50 from Amazon for about $10. They even have the little gaskets in them. Windshield: I had mine replaced several years ago. They used a Pilkington, which is the OEM manufacturer. The invoice just says Pilkington (slr contr)(rain sensor)(condensation sensor) with an OEM part number of FW02556GYYN. The "G" in the part number I believe refers to the color of the solar tint at the top, as there is also a BYYN and BTYN. I was given a choice when the place ordered the windshield. SLR CONTR is short for solar control, which refers to the tinted section at the top. It also says "Solar" under the Pilkington logo. Battery: there are tons of choices. You should check what came in your car, as some years seemed to get slightly higher capacity batteries. Generally speaking, it's a group 48 with 720 CCA minimum. Some websites indicate a group 94, for some reason. Regardless, I wouldn't get too hung up on specific brands, just buy the one with the longest "full replacement warranty" as that's the best indicator of battery quality. I say this because a lot of batteries are just private label.

The factory service manual would certainly have it. Buy one if you do any sort of wrenching on your cars, it totally pays for itself.

Got this from ECS, so probably a safe bet, but can anyone confirm about the tie rod assembly? Looks like another multi-supplier item.
Tie Rod Assembly (Right) - OEM Part# 32102283462 Equivalent 1 - Hamburg Tech (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-hamburg-...102283462~ham/) Equivalent 2 - Lemforder (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-lemforde...102283462~lem/) Tie Rod Assembly (Left) - OEM Part# 32102283461 Equivalent 1 - Hamburg Tech (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-hamburg-...102283461~ham/) Equivalent 2 - Lemforder (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-lemforde...102283461~lem/) |

Good find! The Lemforder one is the exact OEM equivalent, Avoid the Hamburg Tech, it is not the same and is lower quality than the original. Look carefully at the pictures and you can not only see the difference between the two parts, but you can actually see the lower quality of the HT part. Also looks like they sell just the tie rod end piece by itself if you don't want the entire assembly. Master list updated.

Buddalun, any chance you have compared them side-by-side yourself to confirm they are exactly the same? I'm a little hesitant to post these two Vaico DCT filters as exact OEM equivalents after reading post number 24 in this 135 thread (here) where poster PeaceWalker says his friend had a DCT performance problem using the same Vaico filter until it was replaced with an OEM filter. The only thing I know about the OEM part is they are marked "Getrag" on the white side, but that doesn't mean Getrag actually produces their own filter in-house. I've never handled these filters in person.

Thanks for the heads up. There's a nut in the product pictures, so it might come with it. I just ordered it the other day, so I will confirm once it comes in. Also, looking at the TIS manual they mention "Lubricating grease FB-1" Part# 83232208093. My mechanic friend told me I also will probably need to use loctite threadlocker on the inner tie rod threads. Do you know if this is necessary? I would assume TIS would mention something as critical as that.

I read post #24 in the link you provided. It is difficult for me to see how the filter is making the DCT clunk as the author stated. The author also mentioned this happened to his "buddy's" car; hard to say. |

Good find, thanks. It looks like the original OEM manufacturer is SGF and part number is: GAB01-024. It appears FEBI buys the exact OEM product and reboxes it as well.

I was trying to decide between just those aftermarket sensors (https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E92-M3...rature_Sensor/). Now I'm thinking maybe I should just go with the BMW part. |

It's probably more appropriate to say at this point it is not confirmed if any of those brands repackage their product from the same OEM manufacturer as that BMW buys their coolant sensor from, but my guess is none of them use the same exact sensor. I buy from ECS Tuning often, but they don't offer the exact oem equivalent in this case. These 3 options are the exact OEM equivalent:
Option 1 Option 2 Option 3 I bought one of these just the other week and it arrived in completely unmarked plastic packaging with no distinguishable markings on the sensor. This is one of the rare instances where the exact OEM part is available, but doesn't appear to have a known consumer brand name to add to the list.
