Motec
Hi everyone.
Does anyone use any motec dashes or ecu's? I'm looking at either a cdl3 or c125 dash and to go along with it the possibility of a m800 ecu Would like to see some of your opinions into it! |

Thanks for the link to your post! I'm not super charging at the moment so hopefully it will be not a huge task. I've done a lot of tuning with Motec and have experience with the m800 so hopefully it won't be too bad to use

I have a M800 but have yet to tune it. I found it used out of a ex World Challenge BMW with many of the features unlocked. I think it would have been $9500 retail but picked it up for $3500 used. It should work very well for my needs. (e46 M3 with a S62 swap)

I have a nightmare experience with M800 on an Evo 9.
Cold start in mornings are extremely terrible. Can't fire up the engine without giving at least 5% throttle. This was then adjusted but now the engine fires up first time every time but idle at 2000rpm for a few secs then climb to 3500rpm. Engine stalls as soon as I come to a full stop. Turning AC on or steering puts load on the engine which result in idle hunt. Could be a tuner issue but having tried 3 different reputable tuners and spending weeks in workshops to nail coldstart, I honestly doubt so. No problems with Autronics. Took less than a day to tune with no issues. For a racecar M800 would be great but for street cars, its advisable to get something else. |
