To expand on this, the Re11 has better dry performance and will have better durability on the track.
The PSS has better wet performance, and will have more tread life in normal street driving.

Honestly,
I preferred how my car drove and stuck to the road on my S-04's over my MPSS's. The MPSS's are some of the lightest tires you can buy though. |

I just had this debate myself and chose the PSS. A good friend of mine runs the RE-11s though and he loves them. He daily drives with them in any weather also and does more track days then we do sp the RE-11s work for him where as the PSS will work for us.

I ran both multiple times. I tracked both, PSS can onlu handle 6-8 laps and too hot. Great for street, but after a few track the were done and no good on street as well. Re-11 track on track and street but wear out much faster on street. I found them rougher and a bit louder on street

If tracking your car often, PSS is not a good track tire if you're pushing hard on the track.

I've tested owned or tested virtually every UHP tire on the market in the past four years (RE01R, RE11, Dunlop SS, Dunlop ZII, Yokohama AD01 and AD01R, Hankook R-S3 v. 1 and v 2, Toyo R1R, Michelin PSS, and even the Federal 595-RSR) and bought the PSS as my daily tires and wet autocross tires in 2013 based on the tire tests which put them better than the Continential DW's. I can state without reservation they are very good street tires but over-rated for any 9/10 or above driving. I'd get the Bridgestones over the Michelins.

The PSS will fall on its face if you drive them hard (auto-x, track), sidewalls are simply too soft. Conversely, the RE-11 has a very stiff sidewall so they hold up well to abuse on the track but aren't as comfortable on the street as the PSS nor will they last as long.
Really depends how you intend to use the car. If you only have one set of wheels, can live with a slightly less comfortable ride and plan on using the extra grip provided by the RE-11 (again, track or auto-x) then the RE-11 is a great choice IMO. If you don't plan on track/auto-x driving or have a second set of dedicated wheels then I would go with the PSS no question, it is a fantastic street tire. |
