OK, help me out here. I got the steering wheel piece and the driver side vent pieces wrapped. I then got the big center vent piece off and the start button disconnected. I wanted to take the vents out, so took off the two nuts, but it doesn't come off. Looks like there is a long line of clips on the top/bottom. How in the world did you get those to un-clip at the same time to allow for removal of the vents??
Oh, and a note for all of those CF wrapping the interior trim. I thought I was being smart. I measured out all the pieces and determined I could do the whole thing with a 1'x5' piece. I put the steering wheel piece on the end, spanning the CF sheet and had a little over 4' in length to do all the other pieces. Well, when you do that, the steering wheel weave goes the opposite direction of the rest of the interior It was a pain in the ass to do, and came out perfect, so I will have the weave going a different direction until I just can't stand it anymore and re-do it. Not as smart as I thought I was...stupid!

You beat me to it. I noticed it right away as well. I'm betting he orders another $10 piece of material and re-does it .

My point was, I knew about it and did the same exact thing on accident. So...I don't have an excuse!

Hey guys -
Great thread and great work. What adhesive did you use to get the carbon fiber to stick? 3M 77? 3M Primer? Any hints about application? or did u just glue all the surfaces and the edges and make sure to wrap the material around to the back? Thanks so much |

Couple of helpful hints for everyone:
I used 3M 77 on the face of the trim and then used super glue around the edges. It took me a while to be honest. Getting the contours by the M symbol were a little tricky, so i superglued that area as well. Lastly, the buttons are a tight fit when re assembling, so i had to trim the insides where i wrapped the vinyl back I like how it came out. lmk if anyone wants pics posted |

How does the material hold up on the exterior? And have you tried to remove it after placed on the exterior paint?
If it doesn't look good after I wrap the mirror caps then it would be nice to be able to take it off the painted caps without damage Quote:
Thanks Belgium

Yes, it comes off easily and has held up well to the elements here in south Texas.

Yes, you just have to pull from side to side. It does feel like it'll snap and is tucked behind the cover but it does come out with just a little persuasion.
