Closed my trunk while the batteey was disconnected. what do i do :/
Hey guys, so I was installing extended paddles and I closed the trunk while the battery was disconnected. I have no pass through and I have a 2010 so I don't have a key hole on my trunk. O tried jumping it from the front since the negative terminal was still connected but that didn't work. Any idea if there is a mechanical switch to get in? Any help here! :/

This is just a guess but if the positive battery terminal is not resting up against metal in the truck you might be able to put a charger or jumper cables on the positive terminal and ground under the hood. This may then allow you to press the trunk release and get inside the trunk. Hope all works out well for you.
**Looks like you may have tried this already and if so I am not sure why it would not work.**

Sorry to hear about your situation. Maybe try take apart the trunk pop switch and see if there's a way to pull the cable from there?
There's also a method of powering the trunk pop wire to pop the trunk but that'll involve cutting the wire sleeve Good luck!

Situations like this make me glad I have a key hole under the trunk lid. If you've already tried jumping and it didn't work, if I were in this situation, I'd remove the rear seat back to pull the day-glow emergency release in the trunk.

I thought jumping would work, but I have no idea why it wouldn't. Maybe the positive needed to be connected and the negative unconnected? Not sure. Also, I don't have ski hole so I can't get into the trunk and pull the release

You *can* get into the trunk, you just have to remove the rear seat back.

How would I do that in an e93?? My rear seats can fold down, but there is a grey felt wall behind it with a little cubby in it. There are also two insanely long screws going through the felt, so I wasn't comfortable pulling them out unless I knew what they did.

Yea, well the roof is also electronic, and I can't get power to get any electronics on. I tried jumping the car's front terminal with another car but the car was still dead. Can't open the roof either

did you connect them properly, the correct way, and made sure the terminals were clean and have no contamination? and was the other battery fully charged? i can't see why jump starting the car wouldn't work. then again, I can't see why those Einsteins at BMW would not add a mechanical key in the first place either? How much cost savings did they accomplish?

Post #4 seems on point: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=690147
But you'd obviously want to confirm the wires match up and the whole thing sounds sort of sketchy... Quote:
