Loose fitting AFE Pro Dry air filter. Video inside.
Bought one for my '04 Silverado 2500HD with the 6.0 and that one fit perfect. Then again it's just a standard rectangular type air filter.
The other one is for my '13 E92 with only 3,800 miles on the ticker. I'm really not thrilled with the fit of the filter so I did put the factory one back on. The tension button is working as it should. The factory filter does not budge as the foam is softer yet the structure seems to be more rigid with the plastic skeleton inside. The AFE filter lacks this and I think the polyurethane type material is too hard to get a good seal. What do you guys think? Sorry for the jittery video, I was trying to record the video, hold a flashlight, and move the filter at the same time. |

You are positive you've got the right model? I had the correct filter and after about 8000 miles, the flat surface that the spring rests on deformed I think, not forming a tight seal. It wasn't as loose as yours, but enough to throw mine away and get an AA filter (which the backing is much more solid)
