aFe MACH Force XP Race Pipe for BMW E9x M3. Has anyone installed this??
I'm curious to know if anyone has bought one of these and installed it. I can't find any reviews or videos on YouTube...
I'd like to know how it sounds on the stock catback and an aftermarket catback. aFe claims it produces 21hp and 35lbs torque. http://afepower.com/shop/details_new...0L&&brandID=84 |

I'm also interested in finding out if this actually produces what it claims. Someone must have bought this thing.

Seems like a really good price since it includes cats... too bad they're in the wrong location.

A resonator option would be nice too for rasp as mentioned above. .

Anyone? I'm curious if it includes (I'm assuming) 200 or 400 cell cats since it says on their site:
"Dual High Flow Catalytic Converters: The honeycomb catalyst is designed for maximum surface area and flow and prevents the check engine light from emitting." I'd like to have just two cats to eliminate the CEL without needing a tune & hacking up the OEM X-pipe.

You will most likely still get a cel even with the HFC.

Yea, I had a Riss Racing pipe a few years back, very similar in design to this pipe. Man it rasped bad...welded to Magnaflow straight through resonators on it. Sounded so much better.

Ya, I kind of figured (unless they're 400+ cell cats) but since they advertise no CEL, I was curious if anyone confirmed for sure one way or another after extended use.

I just recently (few days ago) had this X-pipe installed along with a Remus race rear section. Car is very loud now, especially on cold starts. Very deep sounding exhaust at low revs, but starts screaming after about 3500-4000rpm, very F1 like. As well, no CEL.
Quick rev from inside the car: http://s167.photobucket.com/user/mac...80c0d.mp4.html Some revving from outside: http://s167.photobucket.com/user/mac...b287f.mp4.html I will get some fly by videos soon! Last edited by yodlegern; 10-21-2013 at 04:29 PM.. |

Sounds loud but good! Are you using the stock ECU or an aftermarket tune? Curious about the no CEL. Keep us updated if it throws a CEL eventually as other HFC setup's do.

Its extremely loud, the shop that installed it said its one of the loudest exhausts they've heard haha... Just a stock ECU, looking into getting a tune next year probably. I hope that day doesn't come but if it does just an excuse to get it tuned sooner!

Thanks for the info! I've been tempted to get it (love their intakes on both of my cars!) but reluctant since I haven't heard of any HFC setup that doesn't trip the CEL (with the stock ECU). After you (and/or a few more people) rack up 4k - 5k miles & still have no issues then I'd be very interested.
