Best Performance Steering Wheel for M3

Anyone has had any problems with the BMW Performance Steering Wheel?

Next month, I'm thinking of getting this one: http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

Any issues? hard to install? Any input will be great!

Thanks

No issues with the non-electronic wheel, the swap is very straightforward.

I've had mine installed for about 3 months and haven't had any issues. Installation was easy once I figured out I had to puncture the back of the wheel to get it to release off the column.

It took me a while to get used to driving with it though. To me, it kind of felt at first like I'd put a sweater over the wheel. On the one hand, I was trying not to grip very hard because I want the alcantara to last.... and yet I found my fingers cramping from because the alcantara slides through your hands easier and it takes a bit more effort to "hang on". Maybe I should wear my driving gloves from racing Don't know if that makes sense?

I really love it now though and don't think I'll be putting the OEM wheel back on anytime soon!

That makes sense... I probably would do the same thing, holding the steering wheel... I have to figure the whole "puncture the back of the wheel" step... I'm sure there are pictures somewhere.

Thanks for the heads up

I'm getting the same wheel whenever it arrives at my house, do you guys know of any step-by-step tutorials for this DIY swap?

Thanks!

Hey, just in case you were wondering, if you want alcantara for the center piece as well (the part that houses the multi-funtional steering) I would order from mod-bargains. Here's a link:
http://www.**********s.com/BMW-Perfo...ls-E9X-E8X.htm

Edit: the starred out part says mod-bargains without the "-".

It doesn't seem as thick as the standard M3 Steering wheel. Can anyone confirm this?

I recently installed the non-electronic performance wheel and it does feel a little weird to me. I used to have an alcantara wheel in my ZHP, but I think this wheel feels a little weird to me because it does feel thinner than the stock wheel. I think once I get used to it, I'll like it though...
