Wheel size offset help
Was planning on purchasing aftermarket rims for the winter setup.
The rims have the following specs: Rim Spec: 5x120 ET 15 18x8.5JJ Was planning on running 245/45/18's for tires square. Would this fit ok with this offset vs the OEM 29 and 23 offset? Or is the difference too much? Also, what would the max/min offsets likely be so that spacers are not required? Could not find any info on min and max offsets that may fit without modification. Thanks! Last edited by jc824; 12-30-2012 at 09:49 PM.. |

The 18x8.5et15 should work fine on the F and R for a winter setup. However, your tire size is not correct - you should use a 245/40-18 instead of a 245/45-18.

A 245/45-18 is 1" larger in diameter than the stock 245/40-18 - TireRack recommends < 0.5" change in diameter. Rubbing might be an issue when turning the front wheels - tire may rub against the fender liner. You may also run into DSC, TC, etc issues with the significantly larger diameter tire.
