any experience with the Camaro ZL1?
Hey Guys
I know, not a lot muscle-car lover here, but I really love the look of the new Camaro ZL1. I know, poor interior, but great engine and the suspension from the ZR1... so did somebody have any driving experience with this beast? by the way: a Camaro is really a rare car here in Switzerland, a M3 not.... also M3's have a bad image here (lot of 20-year-old-wannabe-gangstas idiots drive M3s here...) |

No, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night...
Are you considering replacing your M with the ZL1 or it would be an addition? I respect the hell out of the performance of the ZL1 but I'm not sure I would get rid of my M for one. |

I would get a Z06 over a ZL1.

The ZL1 is badass. It looks mean, sounds mean, and means business on the track. For a heavy car, it is very well balanced and capable. Excellent braking and handling. I say, do it

If I was in the market for a car right now, I would probably pick the ZL1 over the M3. It is a lot more car for the money and it actually has a decent suspension unlike the GT500.

I am in the market right now for an M3 and there isn't a chance in hell that I am looking at a Chevy Camaro as a comparison. To have to sit in that thing and look at those goofy dials/junk plastic interior and then park it and have to look at the cartoon like exterior. No thanks. I've had my fill of Gov't Motors products.

ZL1 is CTS-V motor, not ZR1 motor... LSA vs. LS9.
Still a great car... I like the styling of the Camaro... but the GT500 is just a beast... tough decision. Seeing out of the Camaro is difficult, and trunk space is pretty small. Good luck with your decision! Dave

So i testdrive a ZL1 last weekend:
Interior: not that bad, never a M3 interior, but good for a Muscel-Car. the windows are very small, like a chopped feeling in it. but the seats are not good, i think i'm too small for it... Power: car pulls like hell, but i just pull it to 4000rpm, cause it was a new car. Brake: Brembo BBK.... great! Handling/Suspension: well, it's good, but you feel the heavy weight of the car. really bad are the steering. it feels sooo indirect! horrible! a Hyundai have the better steering than this car! over all, i will keep my M3. it's way the better car, also a ZL1 isnt cheap here in Switzerland. the ZL1 isnt a bad car, but if you want a great balance car like the M3, you need to put al dot of $$$ in it. |

ZL1?
Why not go with the current ZR1 and call it a day? F the ZO6. ZR1 and be done.
