Success!
I am working with someone on making these available It took a while to install the 3 DVD's. There is only a 3 minute difference in time on the clock because I pulled the version right as the DVD's hit 99.8% done with the installation. |

If anyone can host....
I am going to be shipping the car back to the US in the near future, so I have the European maps loaded. I am planning on driving the car from the port to our new home, so I have plenty of time to update as I drive, but not want to be too early in the potential queue to "lose" the Euro maps "early".

This is great. Had my 2011 in for an oil change and a software flash and asked about the new maps. They wanted $427 to do it. Crazy!!
Came here to see what's up with that and found this thread. Edit: Actually I found a place to buy the discs inexpensively (unless they tell me Monday they're out of stock) and working on getting a VIN unique code somewhere. Otherwise, I'd appreciate getting in line if the disc purchase fails. Last edited by BigHat; 05-05-2012 at 10:31 AM.. Reason: updated info |

I have a good connection at home (Fios 35/35) But I'm using cheap ass web server software so not sure what speed people will be getting I can host it at work, I assume it's not a copy right issue, since you can't use them without buying a code from BMW

How far are you now with the uploads?
Just started uploading all 3 ISO's at the same time (about 15 minutes ago) and currently at 10% with Fios 25/25 connection. Also, Looks like each file is 7 plug GB...So I guess they have to be burned on DL DVD's?....What's the recomended DL DVD (Memorex, Verbatim etc.), burning software and burn speed? I've also read about using the USB port to load the maps, but I don't have a USB stick(s) large enough, nor do I know if any other files are needed vs the DVD load method.

An hour into uploading I was already at about 50%...so I left it overnight and when I checked this morning all 3 files were competed. |

Also, I have a 32 GB USB memory stick and member "sig5x" mentioned earlier in this tread of possibly burning the ISO's to a USB stick.....Has anyone been successful installing the maps via a USB stick instead of a DVD? |
